Emma Heming Willis has defended the family's decision to move her husband, Bruce Willis, into his own home amid his deteriorating health.
The actor has been battling dementia over the last few years, and although some have criticized the decision, Emma described it as the "safest and best" choice.
Emma Heming also affirmed that in his new home, Bruce Willis receives "the best care 100% of the time," with full-time caregivers attending to him.
Emma Heming Willis Says The Decision Was 'Not Up For Debate'

Weeks after revealing in an ABC special that Bruce Willis had been moved to his own home, Emma has now defended the decision during a recent appearance on "Good Morning America" with host Michael Strahan.
She claimed that although it was "hard" for the family to make the choice, it was ultimately "the safest and best decision — not just for Bruce, but also for our two young girls."
The mother of two also addressed the backlash surrounding the decision, admitting she anticipated criticism but that it was "really not up for debate."
"Now I know that Bruce has the best care 100% of the time. His needs are met 100% of the time, as well as our two young daughters'. So I'm not gonna take a vote on that," added Emma, who shares two kids, Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn, with the "Die Hard" star.
The Model Feels 'Caregivers Are So Judged'

Since Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022, his family has surrounded him with love and support.
They have also regularly shared updates with fans about his health and how they have been coping with the challenges of his condition.
However, much of that effort now seems overlooked following the decision to move him into his own home, a choice Emma went on to admit she was unhappy to see criticized.
"I feel like caregivers are so judged, and it just goes to show that people sometimes just have an opinion versus really having the experience," she told her 53-year-old host.
"And I'll say that dementia plays out differently in every household. If you've seen one case of dementia, it's one case of dementia," Emma added about the family's decision. "So you have to do what is right for your family and what is going to keep your loved one safe, as well as your young children."
Emma Heming Willis Reveals What Triggered The Decision To Move Bruce Willis

Elsewhere in her interview with Strahan, Emma revealed the "wakeup call" that began conversations within the family about moving Bruce.
She claimed that her neurolgist had told her "that sometimes caregivers die before their loved ones," and at that point, she knew that she needed real professional help to handle Bruce's care.
"I think that was my wakeup call to realize that I need to get help, and I'm not a failure because I need help. It's okay for me to raise my hand. I didn't realize that," Emma revealed. "I really needed permission for someone to tell me that it's okay to get help."
Emma Heming Willis Wants Her Book To Show Caregivers That They Need To 'Care For Themselves'

Emma revealed that she shares many of these behind-the-scenes details in her new book, "The Unexpected Journey."
It provides practical guidance to help caregivers navigate this challenging path with more ease.
"That's what I hope that this book does for caregivers: It just gives them the permission to be able to care for themselves because if they don't, how will they be able to show up and continue to care for the person that they love?" Emma remarked.
Emma Heming Willis Says Her Love Story With Bruce Willis Has Grown

Last week, Emma opened up to People magazine about her enduring love story with Bruce Willis, whom she was introduced to by her trainer in 2005.
She described the actor as a devoted "family man" and an "iconic girl dad" who always made time to be present for his children despite the demands of his career.
Although dementia has now taken a toll on much of Bruce's mental sharpness, it has done nothing to diminish the deep love Emma feels for him.
"I feel like our love story has only grown and developed more," she told the outlet. "It sounds woo-woo, but it's just on a more cellular level. I am so grateful that he is very much here, very much a part of our day-to-day."
She added, "It has meant so much to be able to meet him where he's at, to enjoy this time with him."
