Jamie Lee Curtis Sent A Letter To Princess Diana Two Months Before Her Death

Curtis shared a photograph of Princess Diana with her arms outstretched towards her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. In the caption, she recalled almost meeting her on the set of “A Fish Called Wanda, Fierce Creatures.”
The actress wrote that when she got a break from the film set, she got into a golf cart and drove to her dressing room to use the restroom, which was a mile away. Shortly after, her driver told her that Princess Diana had arrived with her sons.
Curtis hurried back and tried to meet her, but was too late, as the latter had already started walking away. The next day, she sent a letter to the princess, explaining the reason for her absence and pouring out her admiration for her.
Princess Diana wrote back, saying that she was looking forward to meeting the actress sometime soon. However, she tragically died two months later.
“… The next day I received one back from her, thanking me for writing and understanding, and of course, nature calling as it happens to her all the time, and that she looked forward to meeting. She died two months later,” Curtis wrote.

In Curtis’ lengthy Instagram post, she wrote that when she learned that Princess Diana had died in a car crash, she turned off the television, knowing “what the news would do.”
She then picked up a book on insight meditation, which focused on how people who lived mindful lives often asked themselves if they lived wisely and loved well at the time of their death. The “Freakier Friday” star wrote:
“I immediately thought about Princess Diana and her learning to live wisely. How she got out of that bullsh-t sham contract of a marriage and how she talked about her own personal issues and demonstrated courage and compassion, putting her hand on the leg of the young man with HIV/AIDS and walking in the minefield. I certainly thought she had learned to live wisely.”
The Golden Globe Award winner then wrote about Princess Diana’s relationship with her son, pointing out that the late icon loved her sons “in a way a royal person never had.”
“I’m still moved by her and her grace and courage, I’m also comforted in knowing that she lived a mindful, wise, loving life,” she concluded.
