The post featured several snapshots from Duff’s early career, including a red-carpet moment holding a physical copy of "Metamorphosis" in a pink tank top and black jeans, a candid of the star smiling in a striped sweater and pinstriped trousers, and a behind-the-scenes shot from her “Come Clean” music video, where she’s seated on the floor in a white sweater.

“Clearly I had to go digging around the internet for pictures from this time as I’m not sure camera phones even existed,” she wrote in the caption. “Sadly, all my hairstyles ARE very documented. I do know this marker of time was a huge change in my being. I was embarking on something I had no idea would make such an impact on people’s lives, and mine.”

“As much as I look back and think this album doesn’t hold the emotional depth I look for today, I know my 14/15-year-old self meant every word. It sure as hell also landed on people at the right moment in time and set me off on a pretty epic adventure,” she continued.

She also included shots of her first performances, reminiscing about going from skate parks in San Jose to arenas filled with fans, and the unforgettable moment she learned the album went triple platinum.

Duff’s heartfelt "Metamorphosis" tribute came just hours before another major announcement lit up headlines as she’s set to star in and executive produce the new Hulu drama "Pretty Ugly."

The project marks Duff’s return to Hulu following her role in "How I Met Your Father," and reunites her with 20th Television. Based on Kirker Butler’s 2015 novel, "Pretty Ugly" tells the story of Miranda Miller (played by Duff), a former teen pageant queen determined to turn her ten-year-old daughter into America’s top child pageant star. While Miranda chases endorsement deals and dreams of reality TV fame, her daughter Bailey is exhausted from years in the spotlight and wants out.
