Channing Tatum Ditches Crocs For Zoë Kravitz: Here's What Happened

Zoë Kravitz has become quite the directorial force, apparent from the fact that not only did she rope in Channing Tatum to play a role with grey areas, she also made sure he never wore another pair of Crocs ever again. 

As we said, directorial force, and a force of nature too, especially when it comes to her leading man. 

This is the first time Catwoman Kravitz has taken up direction although she has had writing and producorial experience from "High Fidelity"... Let's talk about the movie and the Crocs.

The movie that Kravitz is directing is title "Pussy Island" and it's quite the titillating title, for sure, especially since it comes written by Kravitz herself. 

She's more than happy with the title, and likes the layers it gives the movie, saying, "The title was kind of a joke at first, this place where people would go, bring women, party and hang out. The story evolved into something else, but the title wound up having multiple meanings."

Lenny Kravitz's little girl has certainly grown up and he and her step-daddy, Aquaman Jason Momoa could not be prouder of her.

Zoë Kravitz started writing the movie in 2017, and it came based on her own experiences. She spoke with Deadline, saying, "As a woman in general, and a woman in this industry, I’ve experienced some pretty wild behavior from the opposite sex".

That said, Kravtiz had to lean on Channing Tatum to play the lead character, that of tech billionaire Slater King, with Kravitz in the lead female role as Frida. 

The movie will begin filming on an undisclosed tropical island early next year but the one thing Tatum will never be allowed to wear is Crocs...

Kravitz does not have anything major against rubber shoes, and we'll give you more scoop on that later. 

But she refuses to let her leading man wear them because while she's okay with trendsetters like Justin Bieber carrying them off, she just did not think that Tatum could pull them off. 

And Tatum apparently, was completely convinced, and later said, "When someone [Kravitz] can just come out and tell me I should not be wearing Crocs and is so adamant about it, she completely convinced me and I never wear Crocs anymore. 

Well, we are sure Crocs is a disappointed brand today.

Kravitz is not the only anti-Croc celebrity out there. There are plenty of others who abhor this all-American rubber shoe. 

So when Bieber, clearly a Crocs fan got to know that Victoria Beckham, erstwhile Spice Girl hated them, he pulled a stunt that took gumption. He sent her lilac Crocs embellished with cartoon animals and she, went on Instagram with a poll, asking fans to tell her if she should wear them.

The "no" answer won, and Victoria wrote, "Well that was close! ? I think I'd rather die but thank you anyway @justinbieber ?". Dramatic, no?
