What better way to thank your agent than with a big bowl of pasta!

Anthony Davis and his agent Rich Paul dined at one of the most famous Italian restaurants in Southern California on Wednesday, June 16. The 6'10" NBA star and the 6'1" agent were pictured leaving Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. Paul, 40, who also represents Ben Simmons, Draymond Green, Lonzo Ball, and his good friend LeBron James among others, is a known lover of mob movies and Italian food, so it comes as no surprise that he and Davis selected such a swanky eatery. It's unclear who actually picked up the tab.

The New Yorker highlighted the importance of Paul's contributions to basketball in an expose titled, "LeBron James’s Agent Is Transforming the Business of Basketball." The article detailed how he convinced Davis to come to the Lakers and Paul's love of pop culture. His home office in Beverly Hills is filled with posters of old gangster movies, and he confessed that he "was watching 'The Godfather’ at a very young age."

As to why the tough agent chose to live in Beverly Hills when he moved from his hometown of Cleveland, he told the New Yorker that it was due to Eddie Murphy's character Axel Foley from the film "Beverly Hills Cop."

Paul has made a name for himself in the business, but he isn't the most liked agent in basketball... at least when it comes to the Pelican ownership. He reportedly made them so mad that they refused to deal Davis to the Lakers. The NBA star even had to fork over $50,000 in fines because his agent publicly talked about trades. Long story short, Paul's client got what he wanted, a spot on the Lakers next to LeBron. Hopefully, his client picked up the fancy Italian food bill!
