Britney Spears Raises Alarm With 'Rubber Skin' In Swimsuit

Britney Spears has so many users commenting on her appearance, responses to her weekend Instagram share are now topped by her looking "black AF." The 39-year-old pop princess is fresh from a headline-making tattoo reveal as she posted for her 30.1 million followers on Saturday, with the hot pink swimsuit snap seeing her lift her ponytail to show a neck inking that's rarely seen. "Ironically you never see it," the Grammy winner had written, but comments are now centering over something else. See why below.

Scroll for the photo, one that accompanied a video of the singer dancing around in a her plunging pink bathing suit as she rocked white knee boots. Fans got major energy from Britney, who dedicated her photo to a rear-view peek at her tattoo. She wrote:

"Hot pink makes my tan pop 🌸👙🌸!!!! Have you seen the tattoo on the back of my neck before ???? It's Hebrew, it’s a language written backwards !!!! It says Mem Hey Shin and means healing!"

Fans may have gotten the Hebrew letters scrawled across the "Piece of Me" singer's back, but they also got her famous and deep tan. Over 1,700 fans liked a comment reading: "Girl looked black AF," with another popular reply telling Spears: "Wear suncream doll look after yourself."

It was with the first of the above two replies that a debate got going, with many disagreeing over the "black" remark as they stated that Britney is just one giant tanner. But that's where it got tricky. See more replies after the shot.

Britney's followers seemed willing to be reasonable. "I think it's the hot pink that the camera is trying to balance. it's neon so the camera lowers the exposure a bit that her skin seems to darken. but i think it's also because she's been tanning too," one wrote. Others, however, wondered about long-term damage.

"She’s tanned for so long that she has what my mom calls “rubber skin” and it holds the tan because the skin is so damaged at that point," one user replied. More photos after the jump.

Given that a fan forum thread is entitled: "When was the last time Britney was 'untanned?'" it looks like the golden glow isn't going anywhere. Spears has, in 2021, been enjoying the sun while horseback riding, but she's likely paying a close eye to her overall wellbeing. On May 27, the star shared a giant healthy food post full of colorful charts and pyramids, saying "you need to make sure you take care of yourself."
