No Bonus Tracks This Time

Swift made it crystal clear that the 12 songs on "The Life of a Showgirl" are the only ones fans will be getting this era.

“There’s no other songs coming,” she confirmed, shutting down any hopes for surprise drops. Comparing it to her 31-track 'Tortured Poets Department,' Swift explained, “With ‘Tortured Poets Department,’ I was like, here’s a data dump of everything I thought, felt, experienced in two or three years. Here’s 31 songs. This is 12.”

This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time," she said. Taylor Swift’s Albums And Visuals Sold In Nine-Figure Deal

During her podcast appearance, she also got candid about one of the most personal victories of her career. Reclaiming the master recordings of her first six albums from Shamrock Capital.

She revealed the move was years in the making, saying, “Since I was a teenager, I’ve been actively saving up money to buy my music back.”

For Swift, the purchase was never about business strategy or financial gain, it was because they were "my handwritten diary entries from my whole life."

"These are the songs I wrote about every phase of my life," she added. "This is my photography, my music videos, most of which I funded. My artwork, everything that I’ve ever done, is in this catalog.”

Swift’s albums and accompanying visuals were acquired in May for a reported nine-figure amount.
