Sofia Vergara has to "pay f-cking Uncle Sam!" and she isn't happy. The 48-year-old sitcom star and "America's Got Talent" judge is fresh from revealing what she didn't like about filming "Modern Family," but it wasn't the hefty paycheck, one crowning the Colombian-born star the highest-paid female actor in the world, and for seven years running. Sofia's 2020 income was $43 million, and she wasn't afraid to mention her wealth when recently profiled by Variety. Of course, there was plenty of the star's trademark humor. Check it out below.

Speaking of the Forbes ranking, the actress said: “I am super proud,” then laughing as she added: “I feel like it’s a bit of an exaggeration though — don’t forget that I have to pay horrific taxes too." And that was just the start.

The fiesty Latina added: "When everyone is like, ‘Oh, my God, you have so much money,’ I always say, ‘No, I don’t have as much as you think I have. I have to fucking pay Uncle Sam! And managers! And lawyers! And agents!’”

Sofia's career kicked off in her early 20s with swimwear modeling and a Univision TV series, but Sofia did admit she couldn't find an agent - and Hollywood wasn't massively friendly towards Hispanics, as the star recalled. More photos after the jump.

The much-loved star, who is big-time bringing in fresh cash with her Sofia by Sofia Vergara denim line at Walmart, revealed: “I was very young when I signed my first contract, and I did it myself, I needed a manager, and that didn’t exist for a Latina personality. It existed for Latina musicians, but not on TV.”

In 2021, Sofia is reportedly earning a $10 million salary for her judging role on competition series "America's Got Talent," one she started last year. Scroll for more photos after the shoe snap.

No nonsense and full of sass seems to be the backbone behind Vergara, whose financial sense was mentioned in her big feature. “I do feel sometimes that women have that thing that they’re scared to negotiate. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want and what you deserve,” she said: “Because somebody is going to make that money, and somebody is going to take that money, and it needs to be you. That has worked for me, always.”
