Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross had quite the scare this week after police rushed to their Los Angeles home following a burglary alarm.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that police performed a sweep of the property but found no evidence of forced entry or clear signs of burglary. Authorities ultimately determined that either the suspected trespassers had already fled or the alarm was triggered by a false scare.

So far, reps for Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross have not publicly commented.

The couple tied the knot in 2014 and share two kids, Jagger Snow, 9, and Ziggy Blu, 4. Simpson is also mom to 16-year-old Bronx Mowgli, whom she shares with ex-husband Pete Wentz.

The incident adds to a troubling string of celebrity-targeted burglaries across Los Angeles in recent weeks.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban weren't spared from the alarming crime wave either.

On February 14, 2025, Valentine's Day, no less, the couple's Beverly Hills mansion in a gated community was reportedly broken into. Fortunately, the Hollywood power pair weren't home at the time, but a member of their household staff walked in during the alleged burglary and ended up "scaring off" the perpetrators before things escalated further.

And former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Teddi Mellencamp also faced a chilling attempted break-in at her Encino estate. Surveillance footage posted by the reality star showed three masked figures scaling her property's front gate before creeping toward her home, only to be scared off by her state-of-the-art security system.

Brad Pitt also found himself on the growing list of celebrity burglary victims earlier this summer. In June, thieves reportedly ransacked the actor's $5.5 million Los Angeles mansion after breaking in through a front window.

Law enforcement sources told NBC News that the suspects scaled the property's fence before forcing their way inside. Pitt, 61, was not home at the time of the break-in, and details about what was taken from the residence have not yet been disclosed.

One month earlier, Jennifer Aniston had a terrifying close call at her Bel-Air mansion. In May, a man allegedly rammed his car straight through the front gate of the Friends star's sprawling estate while she was home inside.

According to CBS News Los Angeles, officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to find armed security holding the suspect at gunpoint on the property. Police later identified the man as 48-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, who was taken into custody at the scene before being transported to the hospital with back injuries from the crash.

While authorities say it's still unclear why he plowed through the gate, Carwyle was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism following the shocking incident. Thankfully, Aniston, 56, was not harmed during the ordeal.

Even NFL stars haven't been immune to the burglary trend.

Last October, both Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had their homes hit within just 48 hours of each other.

Mahomes' Belton, Missouri, residence was targeted around midnight on October 6, according to police reports. Then, shockingly, Kelce's home in Leawood, Kansas, was burglarized the very next day, October 7, while the Kansas City Chiefs were playing the Saints at home.

Reports state that the thieves broke in through a rear door and made off with roughly $20,000 in cash.
