In a wild turn of events, Jeffree Star feels bad for his past ‘childish’ behavior.

The controversial YouTuber has officially gone on the record to let the world know he has grown up.

The beauty influencer, who was recently involved in a horrifying car crash in Wyoming, is remorseful for his behavior in the past.

This isn’t the first time Star has addressed acting ‘childish and stupid.’ Since his rise to fame he has been called out for using racial slurs, getting into online feuds with other YouTubers as well as controversial behavior which he is working to rid himself of.

His most recent feud involved James Charles, Shane Dawson & Tati Westbrook, all of whom have taken a step away from the spotlight given their own individual controversies.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, Star said his past behavior no longer defines him.

“That’s just not really me anymore,” he told the outlet.

He continued, "I think that's kind of hard for people to understand because I was in a lot of drama and a lot of it wasn't my doing," the beauty mogul revealed. "A lot of it was me entertaining things that I shouldn't have, and acting childish and stupid and letting emotions get the best of me.”

Star compared himself to “Mean Girls” villain Regina George. After some self-reflection, he said his online persona used to play into the fictional character.

Star is now on a different trajectory, and is focused on positivity.

However, the irony of it all is not lost on him.

“I know that may sound like a crock of s--t from one of the most dramatic people in the makeup industry, but I'm generally in a really good place mentally, and I definitely wasn't before,” Star confessed.

Star was also very honest about his reputation as ‘controversial’ saying, "I definitely think it's fair because I used to entertain and respond to so much, even though I probably shouldn't have."

He attributed some of his negligent behavior to being thrust into the limelight with ‘little warning.’ He felt he owed everyone an explanation when it came to public drama.

His response videos, which became very popular and common for the social media influencer, did more harm than good for him.

Star is grateful for the pandemic as it allowed him to distance himself from drama, and his move to Wyoming gave him the opportunity to learn how to “control his emotions.”

"I honestly keep to myself and I don't really engage in the beauty world anymore," he revealed.

He would like for the world to not define him for his past, but rather see him for his growth.

Of his seemingly “overnight success” Star said, "I think sometimes the drama has really overshadowed the entrepreneurship that I'm about, and coming from nothing and being homeless and making it this far. I'm really proud of myself and I'm just thankful that I could still inspire so many people with my life."
