Although the actress has confessed that she has struggled with some of the pronunciations of the different languages mentioned on the show, overall, she called becoming the next “Jeopardy!” host a “dream job.”
"I will say that for me personally, and academically speaking, this is a really, really, really lovely place that I felt so comfortable, and was really honored to be part of it in any way. But obviously feel very strongly that if people find me tolerable, this is a dream job," she said.

Although some fans found her positivity refreshing, others found her affable nature “annoying.”
“I don't know if I can take another week of this woman,” one fan tweeted. “Too much giggling at times ... hmmm, never saw Alex do that.”
“This will be another week of me wondering why she laughs at questions as if she can’t believe they are on Jeopardy or something,” another wrote. “Utterly annoying. We can barely watch.”
Other fans felt that some of her responses to contestants were condescending. “Never heard a host say ‘I knew that one’ before,” another fan wrote. “She’s super pretentious and seemingly adds to every answer she can.”
