Dua Lipa is unphased by past bullying, and she is getting the last laugh!

It’s been four years since Dua’s debut album, “Dua Lipa,” was released on June 2, 2017.

Dua commemorated the milestone with a video on her Instagram story.

The songstress is seen wearing pink camoflage pajamas, a messy bun and a fresh face while laying down in bed.

She starts off by saying, “Just want to give a massive, massive thank you to everyone whose been listening to my music from the very beginning, it’s been four years since my debut album has come out, and I’m so grateful for all of the opportunities.”

Dua reminisced about all the amazing people she’s met, which is too many to count, and all the incredible lessons she learned from touring.

If you're wondering how long she toured, that's three years!

Dua has had an amazing career, despite the Covid-19 pandemic and her album, “Future Nostalgia,” leaking in 2020.

In March of that year Dua announced she’d be releasing her album on March 27th versus the original release date of April 3rd.

At the time of the leak, Dua posted a tearful Instagram story saying, "I've been a little bit conflicted about whether it's the right thing to do during this time because lots of people are suffering."

"I'm not sure if I'm even doing the right thing," she continued, "but I think the thing we need the most at the moment is music, and we need joy and we need to be trying to see the light. I hope it makes you smile and I hope it makes you dance and I hope I make you proud."

"Future Nostalgia" was absolutely the album the world needed at the time.

Since her debut in 2017, Dua has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards. In 2018 she took home Grammys for “Best New Artist” and “Best Dance Record” for “Electricity.”

In 2020 she took home “Best Pop Vocal Album” for “Future Nostalgia.”

Needless to say the woman has been booked, busy and #WINNING.

So, when it comes to the haters who bullied her over her dance skills way back when, Dua laughs in their face.

Through some chuckles Dua continued to tell fans, “Getting bullied online, which made me want to dance my ass off, um, and just really made me want to get better, so thank you so much. For all things good and bad for helping me grow, I’m very grateful and I’m excited for you guys to see what we have coming up next.”

The bullying she’s referring to dates back to 2018 when a video of her performing “One Kiss” went viral.

Fans had a heyday on social media making fun of her “lackluster choreography.”

Dua even spoke out about the bullying she received last year to Attitude magazine saying, “I experienced a s*** ton at the end of my first record, and it was definitely something that gave me anxiety and made me upset and made me feel like I wasn’t good enough and made me feel like, maybe I’m not meant to be here and on the stage.”

She continued, “There were so many things, especially when you start out, like a video of me dancing and they’re like, ‘Ah well, she has no stage presence’ – but they’d never been to one of my shows, they’d never seen me perform. They would take one small snippet and run with it and it would become a whole thing.”

The “Hallucinate” singer revealed that for a short period of time the bullying was extremely mentally crippling.

“You know, I’d go on stage and if somebody was filming me, in my head, I wasn’t, like, ‘Oh, they’re filming me because they want to keep it.’ I was like, ‘They’re going to film it so they can laugh at me or something,” revealed Dua.

Even then she admitted that it was a tough time, but the hateful comments and laughs behind her back made her work harder. It helped her become stronger and more confident.
