Hailey Bieber is a woman of God and she is not afraid to show it, nor is she worried about the criticism she receives about her religion.

During a sit-down interview with actress Yvonne Orji, Hailey and Yvonne had a super honest conversation about religion and the heavy criticism that carries in the industry.

On Wednesday, June 2nd, Hailey welcomed Yvonne to her YouTube channel to talk about religion and promote her new book, “Bamboozled by Jesus: How God Tricked Me Into The Life Of My Dreams,”, out now.

When opening up the conversation about religion Hailey mentioned, “We both, in different ways, work in this industry where I feel like a lot of the time people misunderstand God and believing in Jesus. Sometimes it can be difficult to be in this industry, believing what we believe in.”

To that sentiment, Yvonne said she caught some flak for the title of her book when saying Jesus ‘bamboozles’ people.

“There’s the sentiment like ‘does Jesus bamboozle people? He’s a loving god.’ He will tell you some stuff that you don’t want to do, or that you are not certain how doing it is going to get you to a place that you don’t even know you’re going to,” Yvonne said to Hailey.

Hailey added that she too receives tons of backlash for the career path she has chosen.

“For my job I have to show skin or like, I’ll get photographed in underwear, or lingerie or something and people are like ‘well that’s not a good representation (of Christianity), because you’re not modest or you’re not this,’” Hailey revealed.

She spoke candidly about her critics saying, “Your relationship with god is not going to be the same as mine, or not the same as yours or any other person in this room or in the world. We all have different relationships and ways we relate to the Bible and relate to Jesus.”

AMEN!

For Hailey, her relationship with God is one of love and acceptance, and she understands not everyone will understand that or even want to believe that.

At the end of the day we are all human, and Hailey notes that no one is perfect and in fact doesn’t believe perfection exists.

Despite the fact Hailey outright calls herself a “crazy people pleaser,” she made it a point to say, “I’m a human being who still makes mistakes and is flawed, and is going to continue to make mistakes and be flawed, but I do believe that when someone is persuaded, they’re persuaded by god and that’s not my job to do that.”

When dishing on the hate she receives she humorously said, “If I end up seeing a comment that’s like ‘You’re this and you’re a w***e,’ and I click on their page and it’s like ‘Mom of four, Philippians 4:13, married, wife, God-faring woman’ I’m just like HUH?!”

This is a main reason Hailey believes people area ‘turned off’ by church.

“I’ve met Christian people that are just super judgmental that have made me feel like I’m a bad person because I don’t live my life the way they think I should live my life,” said Hailey.

Hailey and her husband, Justin Bieber, are very open about their faith and how it has been one of the main things keeping their relationship intact.

She outright said it if weren’t for their shared beliefs and faith, they would not be together.
