Michele Morrone, who played the male lead in last summer’s more than hot to handle Netflix movie “365 Days,” is speaking out about his sexuality.
Did the the hunky Italian actor reveal he is part of the LGBTQ community?
Many fans and outlets are speculating he recently came out on Instagram after he posted a cozy picture with his new co-star, Simone Susinna.
June 1st marks the start of Pride month, and what better way to come out and show your pride than at the beginning of the month?
There really is no better way to come out, unless you’re not ACTUALLY coming out.
This is the current situation Morrone has found himself in, and now he’s hitting back at false headlines claiming he “came out” in the photo with Susinna.
The co-stars are bringing the heat in more ways than one.
In the social media picture you see both Morrone and Susinna shirtless in a pool with Susinna’s arm draped around Morrone’s neck.
The two topped off the photo with smoldering gazes into the camera.
Morrone captioned the photo, “I’m a liar.” Susinna shared the same picture and caption to his account as well.
Many people in Morrone’s comments section were hit with a case of curiosity, and began commenting questions such as, “Is he gay?” and “Is this a plot twist of what?” Some other fans left the 🌈 emoji followed by a ‘?’
The post raised a lot of questions, and it got to a point where Morrone felt the need to speak out.
In an Instagram story posted on Wednesday, June 2nd, Morrone set the record straight.
He starts off by wishing his fans a ‘good morning,’ and quickly gets to stating the facts about his sexuality.
“So this morning I woke up with my team calling me and saying, ‘Hey, there are a lot of articles on the media saying that you came out’, because of the picture I took with Simone,” said Morrone.
He explains that the two have become very good friends and are basically like brothers. After all, they are currently shooting a movie together.
Morrone continued explaining, “You guys, it was just a picture. Nothing more. Oh and by the way I am an extremely, very big supporter of the LGBT community, but we are just talking about a normal picture. I didn’t came out.”
As for that caption, ‘I’m a liar,’ Morrone was able to clear that up too.
“I am an actor, which is a kind of liar. That is why I wrote that. An actor is a liar, because acting like someone who I am not. So, I didn’t came out.”
Morrone goes on to apologize for any confusion his picture and caption may have caused, but reiterated the fact that he is a big supporter of the LGBT community.
His parting thoughts to fans, “Happiness is priceless you guys. Peace and love, I love you so much. And let’s keep in touch bye.”
Morrone began filming the sequel to ‘365’ in May and will be shooting for six months straight.
