Kate Middleton's Uncle Claims She's Key To Mending Royal Rift

It's been a very eventful year for the Royal Family. Most of the news about the Windsor's has not been overly positive. However, the Queen is looking to kick off her Platinum Jubilee this weekend and hopefully have a year of good press.

Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith had a sitdown with Closer Magazine in the UK. In which he talked about the drama surrounding the Royal Family. Particularly everything induced by Megxit and the subsequent claims Harry and Meghan have made. He seems to think Kate is key to bringing William and Harry back together.

Kate's uncle voiced his opinion on Harry's actions before talking about his own family member. He certainly seemed to voice an opinion that is shared by many in Britain and across the world saying,

"Everyone is astonished. He wanted to step back and protect his wife, now he’s charging in. It’s an attack on the family – why do it?" He went on to say, "If you want an easy life, work it out privately and have a conversation respectfully. Don’t air it in public, it’s really hurtful."

Another concern voiced by Goldsmith is the continued deterioration of the relationship. Goldsmith questions whether the relationship will be "fixable" if Harry continues down this path. On this subject he mentioned,

"If Harry doesn’t get a grip and stop this self-indulgent episode, there will soon be no common ground or relationship to rebuild."

Again, this is probably an opinion shared by many people. Even folks who have been in Harry and Meghan's corner throughout the ordeal. Even if the claims they made were 100% true airing them out publically like that certainly doesn't help!

At the end of the day, Goldsmith is Kate's uncle, not the royals' uncle. It makes sense that he would put his money on his own family. He did reveal though that it's in Kate's nature to try and solve these types of issues. That's why he feels that she could be key in mediating between the brothers. He said this in the interview,

"if anyone can bring peace to the royals, Kate can. Kate is a brilliant arbiter and peacemaker. Every bone in her body is about making friends and doing the best she can... She’s trying to mediate.”

To be fair Kate's uncle has a pretty checkered past himself. Therefore, talking about Harry's behavior as the most appalling thing he has ever seen is pretty hypocritical. This is the same man who was fined for domestic violence a couple of years back. He was kind enough to hit his wife with a left hook just as they were getting out of a cab.

The couple were both drunk and the cab driver was the one who testified in court to let them know exactly what happened. Although Goldsmith voiced opinions that may be shared by many in the general public is he really one to talk?
