Richards isn't letting her estranged husband tarnish her image.

Recently, the "Starship Troopers" star denied allegations of being a drug addict and instead accused the 53-year-old of abuse and harassment.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Richards' divorce lawyer Brett Berman noted, "In addition to the repeated abuse perpetrated by Mr. Phypers against Ms. Richards throughout the parties' marriage, Mr. Phypers has continued to harass Ms. Richards since being served with the Temporary Restraining Order by, among other things, disseminating private information from Ms. Richards' cell phone and laptop, which he stole."

The statement revealed that Phypers' actions were interfering with Richards' peace of mind, adding that he had already been warned in writing not to share any material from her stolen phone and laptop.

"He continues to do so. Ms. Richards will not be responding to Mr. Phypers' false allegations in a public forum, and will be addressing Mr. Phypers' abuse in Court," Berman concluded.

Following Denise Richards' response, Phypers also fired back in a statement.

He stated that the 54-year-old seemed to be having "another one of her now‑infamous 'upside‑down jacket' moments," referring to her appearance on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season 13, where she wore her jacket incorrectly.

Phypers suggested that Richards' team appeared intent on spinning the situation "upright, no matter the cost or collateral damage," adding that he genuinely hoped she would get the help and support she needed.

Further quoting one of her past on‑camera moments, he recalled, "As Denise herself once famously slurred in a less‑than‑sober moment, words that now echo with irony, 'Stop it. I know what you are doing.'"

Phypers concluded with a sharp statement, "Nothing was stolen, and nothing is missing, except, perhaps, Ms. Richards' moral compass."

Richards and Phypers' divorce drama took a new turn on July 20 after the latter circulated a letter to friends and family, accusing her of long-term substance abuse and mistreatment.

In the note, he alleged that the model was addicted to "Vicodin (which she jokingly calls 'Vitamin D' or 'white chestnuts'), mixed with Adderall and tequila."

"Some of you know this has been an issue for over 20 years. She's no longer eating real meals, and I've witnessed her pass out from substances, putting herself and others in danger, including while driving with our daughter," he continued per Page Six.

In the same letter, the Bravolebrity claimed Richards was having an "ongoing" affair and suggested that she physically attacked him and their daughter on July 4.

He also noted that previous allegations of his being abusive were false.

"I have never, ever physically harmed my wife, and I did not give her a black eye. I have only ever stepped in to protect her or others, including separating her from physically attacking her daughter, always coming from a place of care and concern," he shared.

Aaron Phypers' letter came after the Superior Court of California granted Denise Richards a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband.

In court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, she accused him of a pattern of domestic violence during their marriage, alleging physical assaults including choking, slapping, and threats to kill her, and submitted photos of a black eye from a 2022 incident.

Richards also highlighted their July 4 fight, calling Phypers the aggressor.

"Aaron repeatedly grabbed my left arm tightly in an aggressive manner. I told Aaron repeatedly that he needed to stay away from me and that he was going to hurt me," she explained.

The order mandates that Phypers stay at least 100 yards away from Richards, her home, workplace, and vehicle until an August 8 hearing to decide on a permanent order.

Aaron Phypers officially filed for divorce from Richards on July 7 in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences" and listing their separation date as July 4.

In his filing, he requested spousal support and asked that assets and debts be divided separately, including his motorcycle, sports car, and tools.

The divorce marked the end of their six-year marriage, which began in September 2018, after they met in Malibu in 2017.

According to a source, the union ended after a blowout fight. "They have been having trouble for some time, but they had a row over the weekend where they were like 'f-ck you,' and he marched off to file for divorce," the insider told the Daily Mail.
