Ashely Tisdale is celebrating one whole year of having an au natural chest.
Tisdale took to Instagram on Monday to mark the milestone.
She posted a fresh-faced photo of herself in a gray, low-cut tank top and wrote on the pic, “Got my implants taken out a year ago, got pregnant and now have natural boobs. Life is funny.”
Tisdale welcomed her first child, a daughter, in March with husband, Christopher French. The couple tied the knot in 2014, and their daughter’s name is Jupiter Iris French.
Tisdale went under the knife for breast enhancement surgery years ago, and got the surgery due to body insecurities. However, she had them removed because of minor health concerns.
She opened up about the experience on Instagram in August of last year. In a lengthy Instagram caption she wrote, “Hey guys, this is probably the most personal post I’ve ever shared. As you know, I’ve been very open about my mental health journey and feel that this is equally important. Years ago I underwent breast enhancement surgery. Prior to the surgery, I constantly felt my body was less than, and thought this change would make me feel more whole and more secure about myself. And for a short period of time…it did.”
She went on to reveal that little by little she began struggling with health issues that were not adding up. She also suffered from food sensitivities and stomach problems that she attributed to her breast implants.
She continued writing, “This journey has been one of growth, self discovery, self acceptance and most importantly self-love. This picture above was taken two months after my explant surgery and I think you can tell just how happy I am to finally be fully me. Over the years I’ve met with many holistic and non-holistic doctors and learned the importance of living a non-toxic life. I’m super excited to share with you what I’ve learned thus far, and would love for you to take this journey with me by following @frenshe, where we take an honest approach to our well-being and openly speak to health, beauty and everything in between. I can’t say I’m the proudest of the choices I made in the past but I don’t regret it because it got me here today. ❤️ Love you all!”
Tisdale is not the first celebrity to open up about their breast augmentation and reduction surgeries.
Chrissy Teigen had breast reduction surgery in June of last year after nearly 15 years of living with implants.
In May 2020, Teigen announced her decision to get surgery writing, “I’m getting my boobs out! They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it. I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort! No biggie! So don’t worry about me! All good. I’ll still have boobs, they’ll just be pure fat. Which is all a (breast) is in the first place. A dumb, miraculous bag of fat.”
