According to an excerpt from Shay's memoir, the reality star dated Metcalfe in early 2007, shortly after his stay in rehab.
"The first date he took me on post rehab was the Cloverfield red carpet movie premiere," she recalled. "I then spent my twenty-second birthday at dinner with him, and I vividly remember sticking to water and Red Bull all night as a way of supporting his sobriety."
Later, Shay revealed that the pair hit up a karaoke bar before spending the rest of the day together.
The "Vanderpump Rules" alum also claimed the "John Tucker Must Die" actor took her shopping, where he "told me to get whatever I wanted as a gift."
"I chose a pair of Marc Jacobs sunglasses that I have to this day. I could have asked for something much more expensive, like a Louis Vuitton bag, but I wanted to be respectful," the book read.

During his time on Tori Spelling's "Misspelling" podcast, Metcalfe shared his positive reaction to being mentioned in Shay's book, saying, "She spoke highly of me, which was nice."

Scheana Shay Revealed Even More About Her Relationships In Her Upcoming Memoir

Shay's relationship with Metcalfe isn't the only personal story the reality star reflects on in her upcoming memoir.
According to a previous report from The Blast, Shay also opened up about her husband, Brock Davies, cheating on her while she was pregnant with their daughter in 2020.
“I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer,” the book read.
Shay revealed that dealing with the news of Davies' affair was especially difficult because of Tom Sandoval's affair with Raquel Leviss.
“I had spent so much time fighting off my anxiety and convincing myself that just because Tom cheated on Ariana [Madix] didn’t mean Brock would ever cheat on me. Now, I was finding out just how wrong I was.”
Shay shared that Davies eventually came forward about the affair, admitting he was nervous about becoming a father and dealt with those feelings by "[choosing to sleep] with someone else."
She added, “I use the word ‘chose’ because it was very much a conscious decision. No one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed.”
Shay Kept Her Husband's Affair A Secret Because She Didn't Know How The Audience Would React To The News

Shay shared that after she learned of the news, she "slapped him and threw a Rubik's cube in his direction."
During a recent episode of her podcast, she also explained why she decided to keep Davies' affair a secret for so many years.
“Never shared my side of the story because I've been afraid, or thought, if I tell people what I'm actually going through, then they're gonna think that I'm trying to take the attention off what someone else is going through, and make it about me,” she confessed, referring to Madix's relationship woes with Sandoval.
Now, though, Shay is ready to "make it about me," adding, “the sides of my story that I have never shared until now in the book, in my own words, with my control of the narrative for once.”
Losing 'Vanderpump Rules' Was Challenging For Shay

Shay's recent revelations come months after Bravo announced its plans to reboot "Vanderpump Rules," following 11 successful seasons of drama and chaos. However, not filming the show impacted Shay's mental health.
“... but then the show getting rebooted. It’s like, that’s a huge chapter of my life that now is just done. As happy as I was for honestly that chapter to be done, I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s been a huge part of my identity that now is just done.’ A combination of these things just led to me kind of going into a depression.”
