Newlyweds Justin Hartley And Sofia Pernas Enjoy A Couples Workout

Most newlyweds spend their honeymoon on a beach, but not Justin Hartley and Sofia Pernas. The couple is spending wedded bliss hitting the gym. The two married earlier this month and news about the nuptials broke following their red carpet appearance at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on May 16.

After the duo were spotted wearing wedding bands, confirmation came that they had tied the knot. The couple -- who have been together for over a year -- managed to keep their relationship private. In fact, they did such a good job that even Justin's "This Is Us" co-stars didn't know about his and Sofia's marriage until the news broke.

Justin and Sofia met on the set of "The Young and the Restless" back in 2015. Sofia played Marisa Sierras, while Justin played the troubled character Adam Newman. Although their characters shared no scenes, Justin and Sofia became friends offscreen.

Their friendship continued following their exits from the CBS soap opera. In May 2020, six months after filing for divorce from his second wife Chrishell Stause, Hartley and Pernas were spotted out together. But it wouldn't be until January 2021 when the couple went public with their relationship by posting an Instagram pic. 

One year after they began dating, Hartley and Perna tied the knot in a secret ceremony. On hand for the big day was Hartley's 16-year-old daughter Isabella, from his first marriage to "Passions" co-star Lindsay Korman.

Lovebirds Justin and Sofia share similar interests. One thing the newlyweds have bonded over is their love of working out. Days before their wedding, the two were spotted partaking in a couples workout.

The two hit the gym with personal trainer Tim Hamilton, who's put them through grueling workouts. In videos posted to his Instagram page, Hamilton showed off the couple's fitness skills. Justin and Sofia participated in push-ups and planking exercises. Sofia then went on to perform lunges and squats while her new hubby showed off his muscles in weight-lifting.

Shortly after news broke of their marriage, Justin and Sofia were spotted out in New York. The couple was all smiles as they held hands while strolling the streets of the Big Apple. The two looked cool and casual with Justin decked out in a grey shirt and jeans, while Sofia was dressed in a long black denim skirt and white tank top.

That afternoon, the couple grabbed lunch at Tavern on the Green. Throughout the meal, the two canoodled together as they dined on steak and cocktails. Later in the evening, the newlyweds were spotted taking in a New York Knicks game.

Marrying for the third time isn't the only big change Justin's going through. The 44-year-old actor and his co-stars are preparing to say goodbye to their hit show "This Is Us." The NBC series, which follows the Pearson family just aired its season five finale.

As with every episode, season five ended with a huge twist. The season finale showed Hartley's character Kevin's wedding to Madison being called off. Then a flash forward scene indicated that Kevin's sister Kate left her husband Toby and had a new man.

"This Is Us" fans are in a tizzy over the huge plot twist and are anxiously waiting answers. However, they'll have to wait a while. The sixth and final season isn't scheduled to air until early 2022.
