Dove Cameron is bringing back the baby blue minidress and pigtails look as her upcoming "Powerpuff Girls" appearance gains attention. The 25-year-old actress and singer has been filming the CW series, with photos of the Emmy winner now all over the internet as the PPG uniforms from the original animated series turn real-life. Dove, whose co-stars include Chloe Bennet and Yana Perrault, was recently caught on camera during filming, and it was a triplet affair from the famous trio. Check it out below.

Scroll for the photos. Dove had already been alerting her 42.5 million Instagram followers to her new role via the gold "Bubbles" necklace she's been seen wearing. The former Disney star is, alongside her co-stars reviving the 1998-commenced series, one that's suffered a bit of a spanner in the works: the pilot for the 2021-due show is now being re-filmed after not being picked up by CW. Dove will play Bubbles, Yana will take on Buttercup, and Chloe will channel Blossom.

In April, photos emerged of Dove on-set and whizzing across wires for some impressive action. The star, who has been clocking millions of views with her flexible splits and training at celebrity-adored gym chain Dogpound, was seen in a cute, belted, and sleeveless blue minidress, also rocking her blonde hair in two bunched pigtails. Together with her co-stars, Dove formed a pink, green, and blue trio.

Dove then shared indoor photos of herself training on the wire while in sweats. More photos after the set ones.

Opening up to Nylon this year, the "We Belong" singer revealed hiding the role she'd landed was total agony.

"After I got cast, I had to wait a week before the news came out, which was an excruciating week because I'm such a fan of the cartoon. It was so hard not to talk about it," she said, adding: "I'm so excited to be in jeans and a little blue tank top and then levitate and zoom out of a window. Please." More photos below.

While late 2020 brought the release of "We Belong," 2021 sees the star popular via her new "LazyBaby" release. Dove has also been making headlines for her promotional content. Last year, the beauty fronted car giant Fiat, with this year seeing her promote cosmetics brand Flawless Beauty.

Dove joins the long list of former Disney stars who've made it huge. "Rare" singer Selena Gomez, "Prisoner" hit-maker Miley Cyrus, pop princess Britney Spears, and actress Bella Thorne all got their kick start on the Disney Channel.
