Perrie Edwards Details Her WILD Reaction To Discovering Little Mix Mate Was Pregnant Too!

This is a SHOUT OUT to the mommas-to-be of Little Mix.

As die hard “Mixers” and other fans know by now, British girl band Little Mix is preparing to welcome two honorary members this year.

Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are both expecting their first bundles of joy with their respective partners.

Pinnock and her fiancé, Andre Gray, got engaged nearly one year ago in May 2020.

The force was strong with Leigh-Anne Pinnock when announced she was expecting her first child on May 4th. She announced the exciting news with a beautiful photoshoot where she wore an emerald green, silk gown that exposed her bump for all to see.

Just days later, Edwards made her big announcement on May 10th with a black and white photoshoot where you could see her and her boyfriend cradling her growing belly.

Edwards has been with her boyfriend and Liverpool soccer star, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, since late 2016/early 2017. The two are not officially engaged; however, there’s been a lot of speculation surrounding an engagement.

The month of May might as well be called “Little Mix’s Baby Bonanza!”

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the ladies of Little Mix revealed how they each found out about all of the baby news, and how they were able to hide their growing bumps while shooting the music video for ‘Confetti.’

Let’s just say Jade Thirlwall is Little Mix's MVP.

While speaking to Cosmopolitan, Edwards detailed how she found out about Pinnock’s pregnancy and it’s pretty comical.

Edwards said the ladies were on a Zoom call with their manager, Samantha Cox, who just so happens to be pregnant as well.

Hmm… anyone else sensing there might be something in the water cooler across the pond?

As the call went on, discussions of upcoming plans, tour dates and shows were had.

Edwards noted she had a minor panic attack on the call since no one knew she was pregnant, and she wouldn’t be able to perform in upcoming shows given her expectant status.

She said, “I was thinking, 'I probably won’t be able to do that, oh no I'm ruining everything!' and panicking... [so] I messaged my manager, Sam, like 'Sam I need to talk to you ASAP' and she just called me and said, 'You’re pregnant'."

To her shock & awe she immediately asked their manager, ‘How’d you know that?’ To which Cox replied, ‘Because I am too. Please can I add someone to the call.”

Edwards revealed it was still very early on in her pregnancy, so at first, she said 'absolutely not!' However, she was quickly convinced to allow this ‘mystery person’ on the call as well.

To Edwards surprise she heard Leigh-Anne’s voice on the other end ask, “Perrie, you too!” and the water works followed.

While filming the music video for their hit song, ‘Confetti,’ Jade went as far as to fake a back injury in order to keep the pregnancy news quiet.

Edwards noted, "We were in rehearsals at the time. Me and Leigh-Anne were pregnant and so out of breath, but we didn't want anybody to know, like choreographers and things. We didn't want anyone in the room to know so Jade was going 'Oh, my back' and she was joining in! Leigh-Anne was going 'My back hurts' and Jade would go, 'Oh, my back, I know, my back is gone!'"

Jade joked, “Any excuse for me to sit out for five minutes! I was just like, 'Yeah, me too!’”

So, while Edwards & Pinnock continue to grow their honorary “Mixers,” Jade’s got their backs when it comes to taking breaks.

In December 2020, Little Mix downsized from a foursome to a threesome after Jesy Nelson exited the group. Since her exit, the women of Little Mix have stood strong together and promised their fans there will not be a disbanding.
