Some celebrities, including rapper Lil Boosie, may be excited about Sean 'Diddy' Combs being acquitted on two serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Still, that sentiment is far from universal across the music industry.

In an emotional statement, Dawn Richard, one of Diddy's former artists, reacted to the verdict and provided an update on her lawsuit against the rapper.

A Danity Kane Alum Speaks Out After Diddy Was Found Not Guilty On Sex Trafficking And Racketeering Charges

Through her lawyer, Richard called the jury's split decision in Diddy's federal trial a "disappointment," according to Us Weekly.

Although the "Finna Get Loose" rapper was acquitted of the most serious charges, he was convicted on charges of prostitution.

Richard went on to say that the criminal charges against Diddy were "different than the civil claims we filed and have been fighting against Sean Combs" in September 2024.

"We will continue to aggressively fight our case until we obtain full and complete justice," Richard's statement concluded.

Richard first began working with Diddy in the early 2000s on the MTV show "Making the Band."

In her lawsuit, according to NPR, Richard claimed Diddy forced her and her bandmates to rehearse for up to 48 hours, sometimes without rest or food.

Another shocking part of her lawsuit states that she began vomiting while exercising on the beach, and instead of being offered aid, MTV cameras allegedly continued filming her.

But the horror for Richard didn't stop there.

The singer also alleged Diddy sexually assaulted her when she was working with a stylist, inappropriately touching her buttocks and breasts under the guise of showing where the garment should fall.

The lawsuit also alleges Diddy requested she strip to her underwear during rehearsals and that he would often conduct business meetings in only his underwear.

Diddy's attorney responded to the filing in 2024, saying, "Mr. Combs is shocked and disappointed by this lawsuit."

The attorney's statement added, "In an attempt to rewrite history, Dawn Richard has now manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a payday, conveniently timed to coincide with her album release and press tour."

One Danity Kane Member Said She Was Nervous For What Could Happen If Diddy Walked Free

In a recent interview, another Danity Kane alum, D. Woods, stated that she was looking forward to the Diddy trial being behind her so that she could live in peace.

"I can't wait until I am on the other side of all this. Maybe this is what I need to do to write a new experience. I just don't want to be in fear of his retaliation," Woods said. "We're talking in this hotel instead of my home because I don't know what he's capable of."

At the time, Woods revealed she wasn't keeping up with the Diddy trial and didn't know what to expect with the verdict.

"I don't want to be disappointed," she said before adding, "I'm not sure a guilty verdict will heal me."

"That will happen when I sit down to talk about a project I'm doing, and there isn't a question about Puff," she added.

"This makes me physically ill," she said in another clip.

O'Day also recently opened up about the trial's toll on her personal life, explaining how it negatively affected the way she dates.
