Tupac's friends may have redefined the meaning of a bizarre send-off, at least that is what Suge Knight will have his fans believe.
The former Death Row Records boss disclosed that the rapper's close circle utilized ashes from his cremation for leisure purposes rather than leaving it in an urn on the shelf.
Tupac tragically passed away on September 13, 1996, after suffering from gunshot wounds in a drive-by shooting in Paradise, Nevada.
Tupac's Friends Described Smoking His Ashes As A Symbolic Act

Knight, a very close friend of the rapper while he was alive, revealed that his friends got creative with his ashes by rolling them up into a joint and smoking them.
"You gotta understand, that's what made sense. It was symbolic. It's like⦠you keep part of him," Knight noted. The former NFL player, however, clarified that he was the only one who did not participate in the activity, and he had his reasons.
According to TMZ, Knight revealed that he was on probation and was concerned about getting in trouble if he were to hit the joint alongside his friends.
Knight noted that Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, chose that her son be cremated without a funeral, and he paid $1 million to ensure her order was carried out.
The Rapper's Family Conducted Investigations On Claims Surrounding His Death

In a story by The Blast last year, reports on some roles surrounding Tupac's shooting resurfaced. This time, the compass pointed towards Diddy and how he might have been directly involved in his death.
Tupac's family immediately seized the opportunity by hiring a private investigator to get to the bottom of the matter. The family hoped to unearth any potential evidence that may help buttress the claims.
They also planned to file a lawsuit if any solid evidence surfaces to bolster their resolve. Their investigation team had also assured them that something positive would emerge from the search, including legal documents.
The next step would be to forward the information to the appropriate quarters to pursue further criminal charges.

In a 2009 interview with the police, the last surviving suspect in Tupac's murder, Keefe D, revealed that the incarcerated rapper paid a considerable sum to have him eliminated. Diddy allegedly offered Eric Von Martin $1 million to murder the rapper.
Earlier in 2009, Keefe D admitted in an interview that the "Coming Home" rapper may have ordered a hit on the "Changes" rapper.
Diddy's name reportedly appeared in a document seeking Keefe D's bail after his arrest in 2023. The record label owner reportedly offered to sort out the assassination as a retaliation bid against Suge Knight, who was also a record label executive.
Back then, Knight co-founded and co-owned Death Row Records, which Tupac was signed to as an artist. Knight was also reportedly in the car when Tupac was shot.

The 60-year-old was sentenced to 28 years behind bars in 2015 for the death of a man on "Straight Outta Compton" in a hit-and-run episode. Knight faced one count of murder and one count of attempted murder for running over two men with his truck during a confrontation.
Knight argued in court that one of the men who confronted him wielded a gun on the orders of Dr. Dre, who allegedly sent them to murder him. Visual evidence from the scene of the shooting showed two men in a heated encounter with Knight in his vehicle.
As the former NFL player attempted to move his car, he reportedly hit one of the men. He then accelerated forward, hitting the man again, before finally running him over. The accident left one of the men, identified as Terry Carter, dead.

When Keefe D got arrested in connection with the rapper's murder case, Knight could not hide his surprise. In 2023, The Blast reported that Knight clarified that, as against the compelling narrative that Keefe D's nephew, Orlando Anderson, was responsible for the shooting, he was in fact not the one.
However, Knight insisted that despite being present in the car at the time of the shooting, he would not testify against Keefe D, should he be called in as a witness.
He affirmed that he had no interest in addressing details of the murder publicly or sharing negative stories about the alleged shooter. In 1998, Keefe D himself revealed that he occupied the front seat of the vehicle from which the shots were fired.
Despite this revelation, Keefe D had repeatedly claimed that the police would not charge him for any connection to Tupac's killing. Authorities investigating the case described Tupac's death as the result of a gang-related conflict between two Compton, California-based rival gangs.
Tupac's loved ones sure know how to keep him alive in their memories.
