Charlize Theron may be a Hollywood icon with an Oscar to her name, but it seems even her star power isn't enough to stand out in the world of celebrity dating apps.

In a recent interview, Charlize Theron revealed her frustrations with the celebrity dating app Raya, blaming the men she encounters for her lack of success.

On the June 26 episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," Theron shared that she’s been using the app but hasn’t had much luck connecting with anyone.

“Every guy has a Burning Man picture and they’re a CEO, like of nothing, or like a fitness instructor,” she said.

She added that when she meets these men in person, they’re often not what they presented themselves to be. “And then you meet with them and they’re not, and they just say it up front! I’m like, 'Well, why did you put that on your thing?'”

Her experience with Raya was short-lived, as she admitted, “I don’t do anything with it.” Theron explained that a friend initially signed her up, and she went on two dates before deciding to stop. “I just kind of stopped,” she said, clearly over the whole online dating experience.

While her dating app experience may have left much to be desired, Charlize has had her fair share of celebrity relationships over the years.

She was also reportedly dating Alex Dimitrijevic in 2023.

Theron’s personal life isn’t the only thing making headlines.

Last week, during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Charlize revealed that her children, Jackson, 11, and August, 7, have "zero respect" for her Hollywood career.

When Kimmel asked if her kids were impressed by her stardom, she laughed and said, “My children have zero respect for me. I don’t know how, it’s just unbelievable.”

She went on to joke about the lack of recognition from her kids, saying, “I feel like I’m pretty humble, but every once in a while I’m like, ‘There’s a f-cking Oscar right there.’”

Despite her impressive career and global recognition, it seems her kids remain unimpressed by her status as one of Hollywood’s most successful actresses.

Theron’s candid comments about her personal life and dating experiences come as a number of other celebrities have also opened up about their use of dating apps.

The "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" star Kiernan Shipka, for example, previously said she is a big fan of Raya. She’s expressed her love for the app in interviews, saying, “Raya for life. Love it. God bless Raya.”

And in 2021, Liza Koshy admitted on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," “I’m saying I’m dating, but that’s a very active verb. Also an active verb is swiping. I’m swiping very hard. These fingers are tired. I’m on the Raya. Find me on there."

But that's not all. Meghan King, "The Real Housewives of Orange County" alum, revealed in an October 2021 interview with Brides that she first connected with now-husband Cuffe Owens on a dating app a month earlier. A few days later, she confirmed in a reply to an Instagram fan that the two had matched on Raya.

In the world of reality TV, "The Bachelorette" alum Katie Thurston also made waves when she joined Raya after her split from John Hersey.

In a TikTok video, she shared her humorous take on the app’s approval process, saying she was approved much faster than she expected, only to face a string of matches that led to nothing. “I joined Raya and can’t even make a friend,” she quipped, per Us Weekly. However, in the end, it worked out because Thurston is now married to Jeff Arcuri.

While online dating might be a challenge for some stars, it’s clear that even in the world of the rich and famous, finding true connection can be just as tricky as it is for anyone else.
