Reports have emerged revealing why Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom never exchanged wedding vows despite being engaged for years.
The former couple was reportedly "looking forward" to tying the knot; unfortunately, they faced a major obstacle in the form of a global pandemic.
The revelation comes after it was confirmed that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom had "split" after almost a decade together.
COVID-19 'Got In The Way' Of Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom's Wedding Plans

After getting engaged in 2019, many expected Perry and Bloom to have a fairytale wedding worthy of their A-list status.
However, despite six years having elapsed since the proposal, not only have they remained unmarried, but reports have revealed that the couple has quietly called it quits on their relationship.
Now, a source has shared the "real reason" why the duo didn't exchange wedding vows.
"They were looking forward to marrying fast after getting engaged, and then COVID got in the way," the source told the Daily Mail.
"[When] they got engaged, she was expecting, so everything came fast, and she was looking forward to heading down the aisle pregnant," the source added.
The Couple Didn't Have 'Any Time To Put A Wedding Together' During The Pandemic

According to the insider, COVID-19 brought many uncertainties and travel restrictions.
This would have clearly made it difficult for family and friends to attend a wedding and disrupted other logistical arrangements.
And when the pandemic subsided, Perry became busy releasing new music and preparing for a tour, all while adjusting to her new role as a mother to their daughter, Daisy.
"There just wasn't any time to put a wedding together," the source continued. "The chances of breaking up were more likely than getting married."
Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom 'Split' Amicably After A Rough Patch

Despite not tying the knot, the former couple seemed happy for years, but amid a recent rough patch, they reportedly decided that it was time to quit the relationship.
"Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable," a source informed Us Weekly earlier in the week. "It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life."
The decision to split was reportedly one that had been "a long time coming" as the duo's relationship had been "tense for months."
Following the alleged split, Perry is now "keeping busy" with her Lifetimes Tour Down Under but is set to go on a short break at the end of the month.
She has yet to make a public statement confirming the rumored split, and the same holds true for Bloom, who has remained equally silent on the matter.
The Singer's Tour Caused The 'Biggest Disruption' To Her Romance With Orlando Bloom

Previous reports that swirled amid Perry and Bloom's rough patch claimed that the singer's ongoing Lifetimes Tour largely contributed to the breakup.
A source stated that it caused the "biggest disruption" to what she shared with Bloom, due to the extensive preparation, rehearsals, and travel that had gone into it.
"Katy and Orlando have been disconnected for a while now, and with their work commitments have been living separate lives," the insider said at the time, per The Sun.
"They have barely been together for a decent amount of time, without distractions, for many, many months," they added. "It has been 'go, go, go' and they thrived when they enjoyed a more settled life, being together in the same place for a length of time. But that has just not happened."
Katy Perry's Blue Origin Space Trip Also Added Tension To Her Relationship With Orlando Bloom

Aside from the tour, Perry's Blue Origin space trip strained her relationship with Bloom.
A report from The Sun claimed that Bloom "did not approve" of the all-female trip, which had also received criticism from netizens at the time.
According to a source who spoke with the outlet, the actor never thought "going on the mission was a good idea" and was "frustrated" and "disappointed" by her decision to embark on it nonetheless.
The insider went further to explain that Bloom "knew she would get backlash" from the mission, which is why he opposed it from the outset.
"From day one, Orlando didn't think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face backlash," the source added. "He always thought it was a stupid idea, and she wouldn't get anything positive out of it."
