Perhaps it's just ironic (and definitely iconic) that the two popular groups have residencies in Las Vegas at the same time. So, does that mean they're competing with each other?

In an interview with E!News, when NKOTB member, Joey McIntyre, was asked if the two bands are in competition with each other in Vegas, he jokingly said, "We don't talk to them. They can take their big fat Sphere and stick it up...No, I'm kidding."

Donnie Wahlberg then added, "We love those guys. There's no competition with us."

He continued by sharing some insight into their show, "The entire show is going to be unique. We are crafting it specifically for Vegas and adding things that, in many ways, we can only do in Vegas and are inspired by Vegas."

Backstreet Boys Hope To 'Sound Like Angels' In The Sphere

Earlier this year, the group spoke to USA TODAY about their upcoming Vegas residency at the Sphere.

"Hopefully, we sound like angels," Brian Littrell said. AJ McLean added, "[There's] not a bad seat in the house. Everybody will hear it sonically the same, no matter where you're sitting in the venue, which is incredible."

The boy band is excited to revisit "Millenium" for fans in Vegas.

"We were starting to get our rhythm with the music that we were writing and creating along with our producers at the time," Nick Carter said. "It was the pinnacle for the Backstreet Boys and the music that we recorded. It was a good time."
