Jimmy Kimmel doesn't seem pleased with President Donald Trump's recent decision to pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley. During his monologue on the May 28 episode of his TV show, Kimmel criticized the President for releasing the convicted reality stars. He also offered his theory on why they were pardoned in the first place.
Jimmy Kimmel Believes Donald Trump Only Pardoned Todd And Julie Chrisley Because Of Their Daughter's Good Looks

For those unfamiliar with the situation, Trump pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted of defrauding Atlanta banks out of more than $30 million in 2022, freeing them from federal prison.
The reality TV stars were ordered to serve a combined 19-year sentence; however, thanks to President Trump's pardon, the pair's sentence has been overturned.
On the latest episode of his show, Kimmel weighed in on the subject and shared his theory as to why President Trump was inclined to pardon the reality TV family in the first place.
“You know, the real reason Trump released the Chrisleys is because, A, their daughter [Savannah Chrisley] is good looking, and B, she spoke in support of him last year at the RNC,” he said. “Turns out that was a savvy move. President Trump didn’t just commute their sentences. He gave them a full, unconditional pardon.”
Savannah Chrisley Praises President Trump For Bringing Her Parents Home

Kimmel's comments came after Savannah, a vocal supporter of President Trump both before and after the November 2024 election, celebrated the news of her parents' pardon on her social media accounts.
After receiving the call from the politician in late May 2025 that her parents would be freed, the reality star and former pageant contestant praised the 78-year-old for "seeing the truth and restoring" her family.
"For the past two and a half years, I've done everything in my power to fight for my parents' freedom and bring them home. This moment is the answer to countless prayers, and I am beyond grateful to President Trump for seeing the truth and restoring my family. This administration does not hand out favors. It examines the facts and stands up for what is right," she said.
"Today is a victory for our family, but the fight against wrongful convictions and injustice within our prison system is far from over. I will continue to use my voice and platform to advocate for those who do not have one."
Chase Chrisley Also Expressed His Love For The President

Savannah isn't the only Chrisley sharing positive thoughts about Trump and his administration.
Her older brother, Chase Chrisley, also spoke highly of the former "Apprentice" star during a previous interview, in which he said he was "grateful to God and extremely grateful to President Trump."
"I'm beyond thankful to finally have my parents back home and my family together again!" he added.
On Instagram, the 28-year-old, who's also been embroiled in legal woes since January 2025 when he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a bar owner in Atlanta, Georgia, shared a photo of his parents and posted a lengthy caption about their homecoming.
"God is so good! Our rocks are back!! Thank you to Mr. President @realdonaldtrump @potus for making a remarkable decision and bringing our family back together! We love, support, and thank you, Mr. President! God bless you and your entire family! Continue to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!" he captioned the post.

On May 28, cameras captured an emotional Savannah outside of a Florida prison waiting to be reunited with her father.
The reality star, 27, was dressed in an all-pink ensemble emblazoned with Trump's presidential slogan, "Make America Great Again."
While speaking with reporters, Savannah described the moment as "insane," but shared that she was more than grateful to be reunited with her father after more than two years.
Some Fans Are Not Happy With Todd And Julie's Pardon

On social media, netizens have already voiced their strong opinions about President Trump's pardon, with one asking specifically, "Why were they pardoned? Did they not commit multiple financial crimes?"
A second person wrote, "I don't understand how y'all are excited for this. There's people in prison who stole $10,000 your parents stole $30 million. Tell everyone how you still have over 85 million dollars stolen saved."
A third commenter also said, "You should be ashamed of your whole family. Hope your new show goes down the sh-tter and your parents end up in prison again cause obviously they didn't learn their lesson."
