Hugh Jackman's estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, has finally taken legal steps to end their marriage.
The two have been separated since 2023, after sharing a statement about their amicable decision to end their marriage. However, neither made the move to file for divorce, despite Jackman already moving on to a new relationship with Broadway co-star Sutton Foster.
That has changed with Deborra-Lee Furness officially filing for divorce from Hugh Jackman on May 23, according to reports.
Deborra-Lee Furness Is 'Pleased' With The Divorce 'Agreement'

After nearly two years of delays, Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman are finally one step away from finalizing their separation.
According to the Daily Mail, Furness officially filed for divorce from the Wolverine star on May 23 at a court in New York. The filing also revealed that the duo wasn't contesting over any assets, so all that is left is for a judge to approve the agreement they made.
Over $250 million was at stake in the divorce, with a significant portion of the money being the earnings Jackman has generated from his involvement in several action films.
And while earlier reports had claimed that Furness wanted more than what Jackman was willing to offer, sources say that the settlement they finally reached "pleased" the actress.
"There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement, but in the end, she got what she believed she deserved," an insider told the outlet about the agreement, which includes a" handsome spousal support payment."
"There is not going to be any drama with this gives closure that she needed," they added.
The Former Couple Will Continue To Remain Amicable

At the time Furness and Jackman split in 2023, they released a statement, indicating that it was the only one they planned to make about their separation, according to People Magazine.
The key message of the announcement seemed to be that the duo would remain amicable despite their separation, as their "family has been and always will be our highest priority."
Now, even though nearly two years have passed since the remark, the duo's stance is reportedly unchanged, especially with regard to co-parenting their kids, Ava Eliot and Oscar Maximillian.
"They are amicable and they are both fully committed to being the best parents that they can be," a second source said about the former couple, per the Daily Mail.
Hugh Jackman And His New Girlfriend Went Public Earlier In The Year

The news of Furness filing for divorce comes months after Jackman and his new girlfriend, Sutton Foster, confirmed their relationship in public with an intimate kiss.
Speaking at the time, an insider told US Weekly that the couple felt like it was the "right time, as their relationship has gotten stronger."
"They've known each other for so long that it's easy to fall into the next stage of their relationship," the insider added.
As for what lies ahead, it appears that the lovebirds are in it for the long haul after Sutton was recently seen "slowly migrating" her belongings into Jackman's $21.12 million penthouse in New York, per New Idea.
While the move may come as no surprise, given that the two have been "living together" and are said to be "inseparable," it has reportedly not sat well with Jackman's estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.
"Deb is shattered knowing Sutton is making the penthouse her own - the place she poured her soul into," an insider told the outlet about Jackman's estranged wife.
Hugh Jackman's Estranged Wife Reportedly Predicts Romance with Sutton Foster Will Fail In One Year

Meanwhile, reports have also claimed that Furness believes Sutton and Jackman's relationship will fall apart within "just one year."
A source alleged that the actress feels this way because she thinks Jackman's involvement with his former Broadway co-star is driven by a "mid-life crisis" rather than a genuine connection.
"Debs can spot a mid-life crisis from miles away, and she knows Hugh better than anyone," the insider shared, per Radar Online.
The source continued, "He's needy and he will cry on Sutton's shoulder and try to help her solve her problems, but he won't give her space – and that's just the beginning of why it won't work out, in her opinion."
Hugh Jackman Plans To Marry Sutton Foster

Meanwhile, Jackman may not have given up on getting married, as reports suggest he's considering tying the knot with Foster.
Weeks after going public with their relationship, a source told Us Weekly that the couple is "madly in love" with each other, amid reports Furness believes their romance is a novelty and would soon wear off.
"They're not officially living together but spending a lot of time together," the source told the news outlet, adding that the pair is "relieved and happy" to have made their relationship public.
"It felt like the right time as their relationship has gotten stronger," the insider added. "They've known each other for so long that it's easy to fall into the next stage of their relationship."
