Whoopi Goldberg has once again opened up about ditching bras for good. During an episode of "The View," she revealed that she hasn't worn a bra in 50 years, calling them uncomfortable.
The Oscar winner made a similar statement in 2015, citing back pain and poor fit as the reason she stopped wearing the undergarment.
During the pandemic, Whoopi Goldberg also hinted about not wearing pants while filming remotely and urged her co-hosts to broaden their outlook on relationships.
Whoopi Goldberg Explains Why She Ditched Bras for Good

During a recent "Hot Topics" segment on "The View," Goldberg made a surprising revelation about going braless for the last 50 years.
According to the Daily Mail, the panel had been debating the best way to fasten a bra, with co-host Sunny Hostin saying that she clasps hers from the back, while Alyssa Farah Griffin insisted that front-clasping is what works for her.
Chiming in, Goldberg bluntly stated, "I don't wear one," adding, "I haven't worn a bra in 50 years."
She then made light of her choice by saying, "I liberated those girls a long time ago."
As for why the TV personality opted out of a garment worn by so many women around the world, Goldberg explained that bras are simply "too uncomfortable."
The actress also shared that she doesn't care if her breasts "hit the floor," because, as she put it, "they're mine."
Whoopi Goldberg Made The Same Confession In 2015

Interestingly, Goldberg has once confessed about her decision to ditch bras and gave the same reason as she did in her latest revelation.
"I haven't worn a bra in 40 years," Goldberg revealed at the time, per E! News. "I've always been uncomfortable in them."
Then. Goldberg also shared further insight into her decision, saying that the ones she had purchased over the years never fit perfectly and caused her to feel some discomfort in her back.
"I could never find one that sat comfortably, and it always killed me in the back. So I just stopped wearing them," she added.
Rosie Perez, who was a co-host on the show at the time, also agreed with Goldberg's revelation.
"I let it all hang out, yes, honey!" Perez added to the conversation. "I take off everything—commando. Yes, EVERYTHING!"
The Actress Once Hinted At Not Wearing Pants During The Pandemic

During the pandemic, the actress hinted about skipping pants as well when she and the rest of the talk show's cast appeared on the show virtually from home.
"You have just stumbled upon the wildest women on television right now," Goldberg told viewers at the time as she stared directly into the camera while giving her welcome monologue, per The U.S. Sun.
"Some of the raunchiest, some of the wildest. Some are comin' with their bras on, some are comin' with their bras completely gone," she added. "Some are in pants, some are not in pants. You won't know what's going on until we tell you."
The raunchy remark prompted Goldberg's co-host to respond with off-camera laughter, seemingly confirming that the actress's statement was true.
At the time, Goldberg's revelation also earned her praise from viewers, with some calling her their "hero."
Whoopi Goldberg Advocated For One-Night Stands And Non-Monogamy

During her time on "The View," Goldberg hasn't hesitated to share her unfiltered opinions, even when it comes to risqué topics with her co-hosts.
At one point, she even hinted that she prefers a casual one-night stand over a long-term sexual partner.
"Listen, a good hit-and-run is a good hit-and-run. 90 percent of the time, I'm not there for conversation," the actress told her co-hosts during a February 2024 episode, per People Magazine.
The previous month, the "Sister Act" star also encouraged her fellow panelists not to be fixated on monogamy and to consider alternative forms of sexual arrangements.
"You guys have to widen your arena of people that you know," Goldberg said then. "Cause it's not just sleepy little towns. Listen, if you can do more than one thing at a time, you can have a polyamorous relationship. OK? If you can chew gum and walk, you can do more than one person."
The Actress Says She Didn't Have Fun In Her Past Marriages, Only 'Great Sex'

Back in March on "The View," Goldberg gave some insight into her past marriages, revealing that while her sex life was never an issue, she "just wasn't having any fun."
The actress also mentioned an op-ed she had read, in which a woman credited her divorce for bringing "new experiences and great sex."
When Joy Behar asked if she could relate to the woman, Goldberg gave a candid response. She said, "It had nothing to do with the divorce; I was just glad to get the hell out of there."
Goldberg continued, "I was always having great sex, I just wasn't having any fun. So that's why I don't understand what [the op-ed's author is] saying."
Sunny Hostin then suggested that many women experience a "glow up" post-divorce, but Goldberg pushed back.
"Well, they don't do better if they've been cheated on," she argued, per People. "You gotta take — these are not end-all be-alls."
