Smokey Robinson's attorneys are putting their foot on their ground on this one!
The record producer's legal team is insisting that their client's accusers are only trying to squeeze out funds from him as an investigation into the music producer intensifies.
Smokey Robinson is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department following allegations of sexual assault made by multiple women. Three female plaintiffs have filed police reports, prompting the sheriff's department to open a criminal investigation.
Smokey Robinson's Attorney Accused The Lawsuit Filer Of Being Fueled By Greed

Robinson's attorney, Christopher Frost, responded to the situation, stating that the police report was filed only after the plaintiffs initiated a $50 million civil lawsuit. The lawyer claimed the lawsuit suggests a motive to sway public opinion and create media sensationalism.
Frost expressed confidence in Smokey's innocence, asserting that the lawsuit aims to damage the reputations of both Smokey and Frances Robinson out of greed.
John Harris and Herbert Hayden, the attorneys for three women, expressed their satisfaction regarding the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department opening a criminal investigation into their clients' allegations of sexual assault against Smokey.
Per TMZ, the investigation is still in its early stages, and law enforcement plans to reach out to Smokey for further discussions regarding the allegations.
The Record Producer's Lawyer Urged The Public To Reserve Judgement For The CourtÂ

Following the headlines about the sexual assault lawsuit against Smokey, his lawyer, Frost, strongly denied the allegations. As shared by The Blast, he described the claims as a manipulative attempt to extract money from an elderly American icon.
Frost emphasized that Smokey would respond personally and file a formal legal response in court. He urged the public to withhold judgment until all evidence is presented.
"We ask anyone following this case to reserve judgment as the evidence comes to light and all the actual facts of the case unfold," he stated, adding that they would seek to have the lawsuit dismissed.
Furthermore, Frost criticized the plaintiff's attorneys for making statements to the press that he believed overstepped ethical boundaries typically observed by lawyers.
The Alleged Victims' Lawyer Justifies His 8-Figure Settlement Request

In response to a shocking lawsuit, the producer reacted with anger, stating, "I am appalled," during a brief phone call with a blog. He insisted he could not discuss the matter further at that time.
Meanwhile, the plaintiffs' attorney, Harris, defended their request for $50 million, arguing that no amount of money could truly compensate the women for their experiences. Given the gravity of Smokey's alleged misconduct, he emphasized that the significant sum is justified.
Earlier this month, four former housekeepers filed a lawsuit against the musician, alleging instances of abuse dating back to 2007.
In legal documents submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, the plaintiffs, identified as Jane Doe 1 through 4, accused the musician of coercing them into non-consensual sexual acts through physical force and threats.
They detailed harrowing accounts of the assaults and expressed that they kept the abuse hidden out of fear of retaliation, public disgrace, and the musician's celebrity status.
The Plaintiffs Provided A Vivid Account Of The Alleged Assault

In the legal filing, Jane Doe 1 accused the record producer of multiple assaults, claiming that he attacked her at least seven times between January 2023 and February 2024.
According to her account, the producer would summon the housekeeper to his blue bedroom, send his dog, Shiio, out of the room, and then proceed to rape her on the bed.
Jane Doe 2 provided further details regarding her claims against Smokey, alleging that the abuse started in 2016 at his mansion. According to her lawsuit, he would call her to secluded areas like the laundry room or garage, where there were no surveillance cameras.
She stated that the producer raped her without protection at least 23 times during these encounters. Smokey also allegedly enjoyed making a mess with his semen all over the victim's face. According to her in the filing, if she refused, the producer would threaten her by saying his wife would be mean to her.
Jane Doe 3 also reported that Smokey abused her at least 20 times over a span of 12 years. Meanwhile, Jane Doe 4 shared that she was first raped in 2007 and endured ongoing abuse for more than 15 years, ultimately ceasing contact in 2024.
Smokey Robinson's Wife Reportedly Enabled His Illicit Behaviors

Frances, Smokey's wife of over twenty years, also faced serious allegations regarding her husband's inappropriate behavior. Accusations suggest that she may have enabled his actions, with one accuser claiming that she was aware of the producer's past sexual misconduct.
It was alleged that she would visit a nail salon weekly, allowing the singer time alone with the complainant. Additionally, some claims indicate that Frances had previously settled cases involving other women with similar experiences but failed to take measures to stop her husband's misconduct.
Another individual also reported that the producer's wife contributed to a hostile work environment. They alleged that she often screamed and used derogatory language, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere.
