Jennifer Lopez Gets Stitches After Suffering A Nasty Face Injury During AMAs Rehearsal

Jennifer Lopez revealed she suffered a facial injury while rehearsing for the American Music Awards.

In posts shared online, the singer revealed she had to get stitches for the injury ahead of her hosting gig ot the AMAs on May 26.

Jennifer Lopez also recently opened up about prioritizing her twins, Max and Emme, during her split from Ben Affleck, expressing pride in their resilience and her personal growth.

In a recent Instagram Stories update, Lopez revealed that her plans to host the American Music Awards were nearly derailed after she sustained a painful facial injury while rehearsing for the awards ceremony.

Lopez initially hinted at the incident with a cryptic photo showing herself pressing an ice pack to her swollen, reddened nose and eye.

"So this happened," she captioned the image. She later followed up with a clearer image that revealed a visible gash above the bridge of her nose, slightly off to the side. Her nose also appeared to be swollen.

In a third update shared on Tuesday, the 55-year-old superstar revealed that the injury, which resulted in a deep cut that required stitches, actually occurred a week earlier and she's already well on the mend.

The "Hustlers" actress posted a photo with Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond. In the photo, Lopez flashed a soft smile beside the doctor, who was proudly wearing a T-shirt promoting his skincare line.

Although there was still a hint of discoloration on the bridge of her nose where the cut had been, Lopez looked almost fully recovered.

"Thank you for stitching me up, Dr. Diamond," she wrote in the caption. "A week later and a whole lotta ice—I'm good as new."

Last month, it was officially announced that Lopez would be returning as host of the American Music Awards, marking her first time in the role in over ten years.

Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, expressed excitement in a press release, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Lopez back to host the American Music Awards."

He continued, "Jennifer's incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show. We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick off celebration of summer."

Lopez is no stranger to the AMAs stage, as she's performed at the event more than ten times since making her debut in 2001. This year's ceremony is set for Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, and will be held at the newly opened Fontainebleau resort in Las Vegas.

The broadcast will air live on CBS at 8 p.m. EDT / 5 p.m. PDT and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.

On Mother's Day, Lopez shared a heartfelt Instagram post, posing in Reformation's Tagliatelle Linen Dress, a blush-toned gingham maxi dress priced at $278.

She completed the effortlessly elegant summer look with luxe touches: a Dior Raffia Hat and a coordinating handwoven Christian Dior raffia bag.

In a recent interview with El País, Lopez revealed that her twins, Max and Emme, were at the heart of her decision to end her marriage to Ben Affleck.

Opening up about how her children's well-being guided her through the tough choice, the singer shared: "I said, 'I promise you, this is a difficult time, but you're going to see that I'll come out the other side stronger and better.' I promised them that, and I did it. And they feel it now. That gives me a great sense of peace in my life."

Reflecting on her journey, Lopez shared that she feels "happier" and "a step further along" than she was "a year ago, two years ago, three years ago."

"I'm proud of myself for that, and I'm proud that I was able to navigate my children through difficult times, that they're stronger and better because of it," she said.
