Halle Berry Told Going Sheer Without Underwear 'Should Not Be Public' At Met Gala

Halle Berry raised eyebrows at this year's Met Gala, going boldly sheer in a stunning, body-hugging dress. The Monster's Ball star, 58, wowed in her fishtail gown on Monday, flaunting her toned figure and, for some, showing a little too much skin. Displaying her hourglass waistline in a see-through, ribbed black dress in glittery fabrics, Halle kept chic in a cropped bolero-style blazer and hat, but the majority of the comments were about her exposing display. The 2025 Met Gala also welcomed high-profile celebrities, including mogul Kim Kardashian, pop star Miley Cyrus, supermodel Hailey Bieber, and actress Zendaya.

Just about staying safe on the red carpet, the 58-year-old honored this year's “Tailored For You” dress code, injecting plenty of tailored accents from stitch detailing and her stylish black jacket.

Opting for designer LaQuan Smith as she celebrated this year's Superfine: Tailoring Black Style theme, Halle further upped the ante via a plunging neckline, rocking lapel satin accents around her chest while donning a statement hat. The Oscar winner's undies-free look was quickly circulated online, where users on the Just Jared Instagram said it wasn't "it" and one wrote: "Sad. This is tacky and classless."

Users also commented on The Daily Mail, where similar sentiments manifested. "That dress is just attention-seeking awfulness regardless of who is inside it. Halle is successful and established, not a soap actress who is desperately trying to get noticed. Why on earth is she doing this?" one user asked. Over 600 fans liked the comment.

Noting that The Daily Mail had referred to Halle Berry's dress as flashing her "pubic" region, one fan said that the "pubic" was not for the "public." Halle was even told to go and put some underwear "on," and this comment also gained likes.

Halle posted her look on Instagram, marking her attendance at the Met Gala as she earned over 175,000 fan likes.
