On a new episode of his podcast, "In The Mind Of A Man," Jax Taylor admitted he should've never gotten married to Brittany Cartwright.
Jax Taylor's revelation comes months after the pair announced that they were going their separate ways after being together for more than five years.
Jax Taylor Doesn't Believe He Is Fit For A Relationship

On the May 1 episode of his podcast, Taylor, who's gone through his fair share of relationship troubles in front of the cameras on reality television, admitted he doesn't think he's fit for romantic partnerships.
“I think about it now, and I just don’t personally think I am supposed to be in a relationship,” the Bravo veteran said. “I just don’t think I’m supposed to be married. You know, I’ve known this my whole life.”
Taylor went on to say that he believed his relationship with Cartwright, which began in 2015, was going to be "different." However, he knew "deep down inside" that he was "never the person to get married."
The former "Vanderpump Rules" star went on to say that, for the most part, the women he's been in relationships with aren't the problem.
"I’m the problem," he said. "I get bored being in relationships. I don’t wanna be in a relationship. I just don’t like it.”
Jax Taylor Loves Being A Dad, Though

Taylor admitted he "love[s] being a father," though.
In fact, during a previous interview, the 45-year-old, who revealed in March 2025 he struggled with cocaine addiction for two decades, said his three-year-old son, Cruz, was the primary reason he began taking the necessary steps to turn his life around.
"It was very tough to come out, but it was something that I needed to do," Taylor said. "It was a weight lifted off my shoulders. I just needed to do it for myself, and I needed to do it for my son."
He continued, "Everyone's like, 'You should do this for you first.' I did this for my son first, and then I did it for me."
"I want my son one day to be like, 'My dad ... there was something wrong with him, and he fixed himself; this is why he's here today," he said.
Cartwright Announced She And Jax Taylor Were Taking Time Apart In 2024

After speculation about their relationship, which viewers saw the worst of during season 1 of "The Valley," Cartwright announced on her podcast, "When Reality Hits," that she and Taylor were spending time apart.
"Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health," she said.
"I'm taking one day at a time. I don’t know what the future holds, but right now, my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz, and I love you guys. Pray for us, and everything will be just fine. We’re good," the 36-year-old added.
Cartwright Said She'll Never Forgive Taylor For What He Put Her Son Through

Several months later, Cartwright opened up about her son, who's mostly nonverbal, being diagnosed with autism.
Amid his diagnosis, Cartwright explained that she and Cruz had to relocate to different rentals because Taylor allegedly refused to leave their San Fernando Valley home.
“Jax would not leave for seven months, while I had to move to different rental houses,” Cartwright said. “I even said that he could move into the rental houses that I paid for. He still wouldn’t do it. No matter what.”
The constant relocating clearly put a strain on Cartwright and her son, which she admitted she wouldn't be able to move on from.
“I’ll never forgive him for doing that to us,” she said. “When you're dealing with a child with autism, we shouldn't be the ones moving around. That should have never happened. But that’s just how Jax is.”
Cartwright Said Taylor Was 'Aggressive' Toward Her In Front Of Their Son

In a previous interview, Cartwright also reflected on a past argument with Taylor that she said "got so bad" he became "aggressive and horrible to me ... in front of our son," causing her to take their child out of the house.
She went on to say that the "House of Villains" star's behavior spiraled so far "out of control " that she knew it wasn't safe for her to return to him.
"There was no possible way that we were going to meet back in the middle again," she said.
