Brand arrived at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on Friday, May 2, at about 9:30 am local time for a hearing bordering on charges of rape and sexual assault.

The disgraced actor kept a straight face wearing a black denim shirt and jeans, and sunglasses as he made his way into court.

He walked slowly into the dock at 10:00 am and spoke only to confirm his name, address, and date of birth to Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring, per The Telegraph.

After the 12-minute hearing, Goldspring granted Brand conditional bail and scheduled his next court appearance at London's Central Criminal Court on May 30.

Ahead of his court appearance, Brand sparked mixed reactions as he announced in a social media clip that he was "heading to the UK for what I am assured will be a simple formality."

Brand's court appearance comes after he was hit with charges of rape, indecent assault, oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault.

According to reports, the charges stem from allegations from four women who claim that he sexually assaulted them in England between 1999 and 2005.

Court documents show that he's accused of "grabbing" a woman's arm and "dragging her towards a male toilet," as well as touching another woman's breasts without consent.

According to the news outlet, cops also say that the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" actor is responsible for an alleged oral rape that took place in 2004, as one of the four women also claimed he raped and sexually assaulted her in London in 2004.

Brand's former roommate has now shared that the actor had a "different personality" take over when he did "something wrong."

Mark Pinheiro sat down in an interview with ABC News Juju Chang where he made the disturbing revelation, adding that he "wasn't surprised" when the embattled actor was hit with five counts of assault and rape in the U.K. back in April.

Recalling what it was like living with Brand, Pinheiro said, "If Russell knows he's doing something wrong, something naughty, something illegal, whatever it might be, if you challenge him about it afterward, this personality would take over, the eyes go dead, the voice goes monotone."

He added, "So, it was never him that was doing it, it was this personality that would take over, and that's the person that would be doing these things."

The actor responded to the barrage of allegations against him in a social media clip he shared last month.

Although he admitted that he was a "sex addict" in his younger years, Brand claimed that he never raped anyone after which he accused the U.K. government of wielding the law as a "weapon" against him.

"I was a fool before I lived in the light of the Lord," Brand said. "I was a drug addict, a sex addict, and an imbecile. But what I never was was a rapist."

"I've never engaged in non-consensual activity," he continued. "I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes."

Speaking on his Rumble show, "Stay Free with Russell Brand," the actor once again denied the rape and sexual assault charges he is currently facing in the U.K. while also going candid about his past sex-driven lifestyle.

Brand explained that the accusations against him relate to incidents that allegedly occurred between 1999 and 2004, a time when he was at the height of his fame.

Reflecting on that period, the comedian said he felt like his former self "must have been captured by a kind of darkness" as he heavily indulged in sex, drugs, and alcohol.

He claimed that during those years, he was "out there having sex with everyone," as many women wanted to be with him.

Despite acknowledging his reckless behavior, Brand insisted that he always sought consent before engaging in any sexual activity and never raped or sexually assaulted his partners.
