Jalen Hurts has decided he will not be joining his Philadelphia Eagles teammates for the upcoming White House visit.
The quarterback won the MVP title during his team's triumphant 2025 Super Bowl victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, but won't be making the customary visit due to "scheduling conflicts."
The revelation comes days after Jalen Hurts had an awkward red carpet moment when he was asked if he would go to the White House.
The Eagles Quarterback's Absence Is Due To 'Scheduling Issues'

After earning the Super Bowl MVP title, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has opted out of the customary White House visit traditionally extended to championship athletes.
Although Hurts hasn't made any public declaration about why he passed on the opportunity, the White House claimed it was due to "scheduling conflicts," according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
They also noted that some of the quarterback's teammates will be absent as well, but that the "vast majority" of the team will visit the White House for the festivities.
Despite the explanation for Hurts' absence, questions have been raised about whether the decision relates to his political views or is indeed a legitimate scheduling conflict.

Interestingly, the player also dodged answering whether or not he would attend the event during his TIME100 Gala appearance, per People Magazine.
When asked the question, he muttered "umm" and glanced away from the camera with an uneasy smile.
At a loss for words, he stayed silent, leading the reporter to say, "Got it. Thank you so much," before the NFL star quietly walked off.
Asides from Hurts, AJ Brown and Devonta Smith also opted to skip the team's White House visit with Trump.
MAGA Supporters Express Anger Over Jalen Hurts' Absence From The White House

Hurts' decision to skip his team's trip to the White House has seemingly angered MAGA supporters, with several vowing to never support the Philadelphia Eagles again.
One furious individual wrote on X, "I've been an Eagles fan since 1996. This is completely unacceptable. I'll never buy a jersey of any of the players that didn't show up again."
Another said, "I think being invited to the White House is of the highest honor. Sad to see these players don't see it that way."
A third person noted, "Extremely selfish and unprofessional…this is a moment to acknowledge the great fan base in Philadelphia. Sad stuff…"
One more X user commented, "Beautiful ceremony. It's a shame these three great stars chose not to go. It was a childish move on their part and proved nothing."
Jalen Hurts Said He 'Learned So Much' From Past Super Bowl Loss To Chiefs

Before his team's Super Bowl match against the Chiefs, Hurts talked about his preparedness for the game, especially how he learned so much from their earlier loss to the Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl.
"I've learned so much," he told reporters in February, per People Magazine. "It's the same as any other game and, you know, I think the moments are the moments. But ultimately, you know, every game has its lessons — good, bad or indifferent. So, just being able to become wiser, grow and mature, and take all these lessons in for the next season and the next games."
The quarterback also noted that the loss "lit a fire" in him, and he was grateful that he could have a rematch with the Chiefs for the 2025 Super Bowl.
"It's had a great driving force," Hurts added. "It lit a flame, lit a fire in me, and to have this opportunity again is exactly what you work for."
The Quarterback Reflected On Winning The 2025 Super Bowl

Hurts guided his team to a 2025 Super Bowl victory and also secured the MVP award.
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, with Hurts delivering an amazing performance that included 293 total yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 72 yards, setting a new Super Bowl record for a quarterback.
After the win, he appeared on "Good Morning America," where he reflected on his team's victory and his personal desire to clinch the win.
"For 364 days of the year, you work day-in and day-out — blood, sweat and tears — just for one moment and that's to hold that trophy," the Super Bowl MVP said on the morning show. "When I saw myself in that reflection, it was something I have never seen before so that's an amazing feeling."

After his Super Bowl victory, Hurts walked down the aisle with his longtime love, Bry Burrows.
The pair were first romantically linked in January 2023 when Burrows joined Hurts on the field to celebrate his team's NFC Championship win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Hurts later confirmed their marriage during his Men's Health cover story, revealing that by the time the feature went live, fans could officially call Burrows his "wife."
Since then, the couple has made their red carpet debut at the TIME100 Next Gala in New York City.
Hurts was honored as one of the magazine's Most Influential People, alongside other high-profile individuals.
