Day two of the 2025 NFL Draft was no better for the hopeful quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
After surprisingly falling in the first round on Thursday, April 24, fans of the former Colorado Buffaloes athlete hoped the standout player would get that coveted call during the second or third rounds on Friday, April 25.
However, what he got was much worse.
While Shedeur Sanders was live streaming day two of the event on his Twitch, the football player, who's the son of Super Bowl champion Deion Sanders, received a call from who he believed was an NFL rep. After speaking with them, however, Sanders learned he was the victim of a humiliating prank call.

The prank call occurred during day two of the draft, when NFL teams were still sifting through hundreds of players to determine who might be the best fit for their organization.
All eyes have been on Sanders throughout the process, especially considering many, including his father, were confident that he'd be a first-round pick.
In the clip, which has since gone viral on social media, Sanders is surrounded by his friends and family when they notice the 23-year-old's phone begins to ring.
"Good, I've been waiting on you," Sanders said on the phone after the caller asked how he was doing. However, the smiles and good vibes stopped there.
Eventually, the caller told the NFL hopeful that he'd "have to wait a little longer," causing the demeanors of everyone around him to shift.
"I don't know what that was," Sanders added before revealing he had a private number for NFL personnel to contact him. "Nobody's got this number, though. Nobody. This is a private number."
The embarrassing moment caught fire online, causing many to share their unfiltered opinions about the situation.

That wasn't all social media users had to say, though.
"Y'all are sick for doing that sh-t," a user posted, while another replied, "This isn't even funny anymore. The way the NFL is trying to make an example out of Shedeur feels racially motivated."

Before the draft began on Thursday night, many expected Sanders to be selected in the first round by either the New York Giants or the Pittsburgh Steelers, who do not currently have a starting quarterback; however, both teams passed on him.
Sanders and his crew hoped day two would be different, considering the Cleveland Browns had picks 33 and 36. They also passed on Sanders.
Fans of the New Orleans Saints, whose current quarterback, Derek Carr, could be out with an injury this season, also expressed their confusion when their team's owners selected Tyler Shough at pick 40 over Sanders.
The third round was no better for him, either. With the 28th pick of the round and 92nd overall, the Seattle Seahawks chose Jalen Milroe from the University of Alabama.
Two picks later, the Browns looked over Sanders again, choosing Oregon's Dillon Gabriel.
