Jon Cryer isn't backing down from his bold political takes, especially when it comes to his former co-star Charlie Sheen and President Donald Trump.
Nearly a decade after first comparing the two, the "Two and a Half Men" alum is doubling down, declaring that Charlie Sheen would still be the better man for the job.
‘80s Actor Compares Donald Trump To Charlie Sheen

During a recent appearance on the "MeidasTouch Podcast," Cryer revisited his 2016 comments where he likened Trump to Sheen, saying, "I have been pointing out, and I have been screaming to the rooftops, that Donald Trump is the Charlie Sheen of politics."
He elaborated, "I have to tell you, I love Charlie Sheen, I loved working with him when he was sober, but he was, he's full of sh-t. He has been full of sh-t, he has serious addiction. His addiction is obviously serious, drugs, but Trump is just addicted to feeling important."
Jon Cryer Claims Trump Is Worse Than Charlie Sheen

Cryer clarified his stance, noting that while both men have a penchant for saying outrageous things, there's a key difference.
"Charlie was still just going off and saying whatever stupid tiger blood comment he was making," whereas Trump "has always been comfortable saying whatever stupid thing he said because most people sort of wrote him off as harmless and didn’t hold him responsible for those things."
He further criticized Trump's appeal, stating, "The current president’s allure to the people who like him is that he just says whatever stupid thing he’s thinking. They say, 'Well, that’s him being authentic.' But he’s always been like that old guy at the end of the bar who thinks he knows how the world works, but he’s really kind of a loser."
Despite acknowledging Sheen's personal struggles, Cryer concluded, "To be clear, as many issues as Charlie faces, I do think he’d be a better president" than Trump.
Cryer and Sheen starred together on "Two and a Half Men" from 2003 until Sheen's departure in 2011.
‘80s Star Spars With Bill Maher Over Trump’s Rise

This isn't the first time Cryer has made headlines for his political commentary.
Earlier this year, he appeared on Bill Maher's "Club Random" podcast, where the two engaged in a heated debate over the reasons behind Trump's electoral success.
According to Daily Mail, Maher said, "I warned everybody about Trump, and then I warned them that I warned them about what would get him reelected, which was stupid wokeness, which is what got him reelected," which is when Cryer argued that it was due to deeper societal issues, stating, "They hate inflation. They hate riots and they hate Black women. And they hate trans people."
Bill Maher Slams 'Virtue Signaling' Liberals

Maher recently called out his own side of the aisle, and he did not hold back.
According to The New York Post, the "Real Time" host and unapologetic political firebrand recently opened up in a no-holds-barred interview where he slammed progressive Democrats for what he calls their obsession with “virtue signaling” and cancel culture.
“They can't stand to have to endure a moment of hearing something they don't already agree with,” Maher said, adding, “Not that the right doesn't do it, too, but the left does it worse.”
Maher didn’t mince words when it came to liberal leaders either. He referred to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as “a little out there” and called Rep. Ilhan Omar “not my favorite.”
But it wasn’t all takedowns.
Bill Maher Rips Gen Z And 'Woke Colleges'

Maher praised Rep. Seth Moulton for questioning the Democratic party’s stance on youth transgender sports participation, a move that drew fire from his own party. Maher defended him, saying liberals were too quick to brand him “a transphobe to a Nazi collaborator” just for raising a question.
“Everything with these people has to be an opportunity for virtue signaling,” Maher said, adding that some of his own friends have cut him off for daring to sit down with right-wing guests like Ann Coulter, Bill Barr, and Ted Cruz. “Just think about what this is, that's people who hate me for who I won't hate.”
Maher also took aim at Gen Z, criticizing young people for lacking “perspective” because they attend what he called “woke colleges," or as he dubbed them, “a--hole factories.”
While Maher’s comments are sure to spark more internet firestorms, the longtime comedian and political commentator insists he’s just calling it like he sees it, no matter which side it offends.
