Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' upcoming nuptials to Lauren Sanchez have reportedly sent Venice into a fever-pitch frenzy.
The ceremony is expected to take place in the city, with the city's mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, previously confirming the news.
While Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have intentionally kept details about the preparations tightly under wraps, reports have claimed it will take place in San Giorgio Maggiore, one of the city's islands.
Venetians Are Excited Over The Upcoming Nuptials

For weeks, online buzz has been building around Jeff Bezos's upcoming nuptials, where he's set to tie the knot with his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez.
According to new reports, the buzz surrounding the wedding is even more intense in Venice, where the ceremony is expected to take place, although the exact date has yet to be revealed.
"People are almost hysterical with excitement – from water taxis to the hotel concierges," a local source revealed to the Daily Mail's Alison Boshoff.
"The whole of Venice is buzzing, now that the cat's out of the bag," remarked high-profile wedding producer Danielle Nay.
Nay also called Bezos and Sanchez's decision to choose Venice as their wedding venue a "smart move," given the city boasts "centuries of history and a pedigree of elegant A-list nuptials" and is currently going through a "new cultural renaissance."
Where Is Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's Wedding Taking Place?

As the nuptials draw near, questions have been raised about where exactly in Venice the wedding will take place.
It is now being speculated that the soon-to-be newlyweds have chosen the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.
Unlike the bustling streets of Venice, San Giorgio Maggiore provides a serene escape from the city's chaos, making it an ideal setting for the privacy a wedding demands.
The location is also a historical gem with several cultural institutions, including the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, a renowned center for art and cultural events.
It also features the iconic 16th-century Benedictine church of San Giorgio Maggiore, celebrated as a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture.
Reports suggest both venues may play a role in the upcoming wedding, though representatives for the couple have yet to confirm any details.
Jeff Bezos' Wedding Won't Shut Down The City

Given how high-profile the nuptials will be, there was always a possibility they might disrupt daily life in Venice.
However, sources from City Hall have stated that it won't be the case. Arrangements are reportedly underway to ensure tourists can move around freely, with no public spaces expected to be blocked off.
"Everyone is making a big deal about the wedding causing chaos but the planning is under way to keep the city open throughout," an insider told the outlet. "Taxis will still be available, people will still be able to get around and see the sights. This will be a very private event, and very well-planned."
Previously, the Mayor himself also confirmed that the wedding wouldn't cause any "abnormal disruption" to city activities and emphasized that it was "their utmost priority to make sure the city functions as normal," per the Daily Mail.
The Wedding Will Cost Several Millions Of Dollars

Last year, reports swirled claiming the wedding could cost as much as $500 million. While Bezos dismissed the figure as "fake news" at the time, the lavish affair is still expected to set the billionaire mogul back several million dollars.
"You can do a perfectly nice wedding in Venice for half a million, but I would say $ 30 million is the floor, not the ceiling," a wedding planner said about the upcoming nuptials.
They added, "When you factor in A-list and other performers, private jets, luxury accommodation, and gold standard discretion, the total could easily soar."
All The Big Names Expected To Attend Jeff Bezos And Lauren Sanchez's

Beyond sparing no expense for the wedding, Bezos has reportedly invited some of the biggest names in Hollywood and business.
President Donald Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates, and Oprah Winfrey are believed to be among the VIP guests, thanks to their close ties with the groom.
The star-studded guest list doesn't end there. Eva Longoria, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Gayle King, Kris Jenner, and Kim Kardashian are also expected to attend the ultra-exclusive ceremony.
In total, 200 guests will reportedly be at the event, with many of them expected to stay at some of the city's most exclusive hotels during the nuptials.
