Gia Giudice Slams Bethenny Frankel Over Comments On Family's Tax Troubles

Gia Giudice is coming  to her family's defense after Bethenny Frankel's comments about her mom, Teresa Giudice, and stepfather Luis Ruelas's tax troubles.

In March, reports revealed that Teresa and Ruelas were hit with over $3 million in tax liens.

After the news of the couple's tax problems made headlines, former "The Real Housewives of New York City" star Bethenny Frankel criticized Giudice for being in another marriage with financial legal issues.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Gia set the record straight and defended her family amid news of their tax debt.

She emphasized that she would always stand behind her family no matter what, noting, "I was sticking up for my family, and you can love or hate me for it, but I will do that all day, every day."

Gia then slammed Frankel for speaking about Teresa and Ruelas's tax issues. She said, "I'm honestly just over talking about it. There'll be a new thing next week, and I think she should just leave it at that too."

She added, "I have three younger sisters who I'm trying to protect as well, and they don't need to see all of this in the public eye either."

Gia continued, "I get it, it's what we signed up for, but if people could refrain from saying things, that's all I was saying. Just treat people the way you would want to be treated. There was no need."

After news of Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas's tax issues made the rounds, Frankel posted a video where she questioned the Bravo star's choices, especially after she previously went to jail for financial crimes.

Frankel wondered why Teresa didn't sign a prenup before marrying Ruelas in 2022 and recalled a tweet she made about that.

She said, "I cannot believe that Teresa is in another marriage with legal financial issues. I have to pull when I tweeted, 'If Teresa Giudice does not sign  a prenup, I will jump through my phone.' I remember, and this was picked up everywhere."

Frankel continued, "It's like you're watching a movie and you're like, 'No! Do not open that closet!' I just feel terrible but, like, fool me once, you're a fool, fool me twice, I'm a fool."

She also said, "There's never been a worse picker in the history of pickers than myself besides Teresa Giudice."

Frankel questioned Teresa and Ruelas's decision to be on television, noting, "Also, why would you both go on TV? Like, there's something wrong with someone who goes on TV knowing that you have a dead body in your trunk. It's almost like it's being made up; it's unfathomable. It doesn't make any sense. It's too implausible."

Earlier this month, Frankel posted another video where she continued to express her disappointment in Teresa Giudice for not signing a prenup and reacted to Gia's comment about not wanting her mom to sign one.

She said, "I almost jumped through my television because she wasn't signing a prenup. We're all aware of what happened with her in the past, and mistakes that happened on television, and people, I guess, warned her about the guy that she's with, who I only met once, and he was very nice."

Frankel continued, "He could be a wonderful guy. It could all be a mistake. I don't know if in fact they have tax issues, and they're not paying them, and she didn't sign a prenup."

Referring to Gia, she added, "One of the daughters did say that she didn't like that the father [Teresa's ex-husband Joe Giudice] made the mother sign a prenup."

Frankel continued, "She's just ill-advised and not educated on this topic. She just doesn't know. And hopefully she'll realize when she one day gets married, it that's something she wants, that it's about being financially literate."

After hearing what Bethenny Frankel said, Gia told PEOPLE Magazine that the "RHONY" alum was gaslighting her.

She said, "At this point, her statement back, she was honestly trying to gaslight me."

Gia added, "I didn't say half of the things that she made in her statement."

The 24-year-old concluded, "I was never recommending financial advice or anything along those lines."

Gia also bashed Frankel on an episode of her "Casual Chaos" podcast, saying she hoped her criticism of her family was worth the "$1,000 TikTok paycheck."

Recently, Bethenny Frankel clarified her comments about Gia Giudice and noted that she never said anything about the matter except in her videos.

The Bravo alum claimed someone published a fake quote from her accusing Gia of sharing financial advice online.

She explained, "It's actually a well-written quote because AI wrote it, I just can't claim it. It's not a read I can claim. I didn't say it."

The 54-year-old continued, "It's kind of going around and people are reporting on it. I don't care in this case, I mean, what do I care?"

She said of Gia, "I know that she's an adult, but she's someone's kid and that's weird, and I don't get into that at all."
