By Kelly Coffey-Behrens on April 13, 2025 at 8:30 PM EDT

Singer-songwriter d4vd had a rough, and very public, fall during his performance at Coachella, but the rising star didn’t let a faceplant stop him from delivering a high-energy show.
The 20-year-old, known for his breakout hits "Romantic Homicide" and "Here With Me," took a tumble on the Gobi stage in front of thousands of festivalgoers while attempting a backflip during his song "Leave Her."
As he helped kick off the first weekend of Coachella, which draws crowds of nearly 250,000 each April, d4vd miscalculated the move, landing flat on his face in a stunt gone wrong.

Despite the painful moment that left him briefly sprawled on the stage floor, the New York native quickly bounced back. Proving his resilience, d4vd laughed off the mishap and went on to perform several more backflips.
He even shared a clip of the fall on social media, showing he can take a hit and a joke.
Reactions online were instant and dramatic, with fans worried he might have sustained a concussion.
“Yikes! That was painful to watch. Wonder if he's going to rethink keeping that move in the show,” one viewer wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The fall didn’t diminish his excitement for the festival. In a recent interview with Billboard, d4vd revealed he was already amped for Coachella weekend one.
“I went to the fitting yesterday. I had a little vibe check. Little vibe check. I picked out two, two fire outfits. You know, I’m excited. I’m hyped. I’m thrilled. I got all the adrenaline in my body already preparing me for Friday, but I’m excited.”
Born David Anthony Burke, d4vd continues to make waves with tracks like "2016," "There Goes My Baby," "Where’d It Go Wrong?" and "Crashing," his collaboration with Kali Uchis.

Other singers who made headlines after the first weekend of Coachella include Lady Gaga and Missy Elliot, both of whom put on stellar performances.
Missy Elliott returned to the desert stage with a supercharged reprise of her “Out of This World” tour, transforming Coachella into a galactic arena of sound and style. Her performance, packed with theatrical visuals and fan-favorite anthems, blurred the lines between past and present.
The familiar blueprint, from the electrifying visuals of “She’s a B-tch” to the Mega Man-style Missy avatar soaring through space during “Sock It 2 Me," proved anything but stale. Instead, it reinforced Missy’s status as a visionary whose creativity continues to transcend time and trends.
On the same night, Lady Gaga made her long-awaited Coachella comeback, delivering a headline set that was equal parts high-octane thrill ride and deeply curated art piece. Far from a simple greatest-hits run, Gaga’s setlist doubled as a retrospective of her visual and sonic evolution.

In a moment that felt long overdue, Green Day finally made their Coachella debut, delivering a high-voltage set that blended punk energy, crowd-pleasing spectacle, and a stacked catalog of hits on Saturday.
It was the kind of performance that left many wondering how it took this long for the band to land a spot on the festival’s iconic stage. From the roaring cheers of the crowd to the band’s undeniable command of the spotlight, it was clear that the Bay Area legends had arrived, and hopefully not for the last time.
Earlier in the day, Weezer treated fans to a hit-heavy set, while Jimmy Eat World brought pure rock show energy to the Coachella Stage mid-afternoon, proving guitar-driven music still has a firm place at the festival.
