Justin Baldoni's Friend and Costar Plans To Testify After Being 'Surprised' By Blake Lively’s Claims

It looks like another "It Ends With Us" extra is throwing his support behind Justin Baldoni amid his legal war against Blake Lively.

The director has been accused of sexual harassment by the "Gossip Girl" alum, while he maintains that the allegations are a distraction from her plot to wrestle creative control of the film away from him.

The extra, who just so happens to be Baldoni's friend, was there for a birthing sequence that appears in the film.

According to Lively’s amended complaint, which was filed in February 2025, the birthing scene was “chaotic, crowded, and utterly lacking in standard industry protections for filming nude scenes....”

Her lawyers claimed that the actress "felt forced into a compromise that she would be naked from below the chest down" when Baldoni "insisted to Ms. Lively that women give birth naked."

They also allege that Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath “failed to close the set,” which allowed “non-essential crew to pass through while Ms. Lively was partially nude from below the chest down with her legs spread wide in stirrups and only a small piece of fabric covering her genitalia."

“The Shallows” actress claimed that she "was not provided with anything with which to cover herself between takes until after she had made multiple requests.”

Several friends and family members did appear as extras in the movie. Baldoni’s wife Emily makes a cameo appearance as an ultrasound technician, while Lively’s sister Robyn appears during a funeral scene.

However, according to Lively’s court documents, she was “alarmed” that the director hired his “best friend” to play her OB-GYN. According to the filing, she "felt that the selection of Mr. Baldoni’s friend for this intimate role, in which the actor’s face and hands were in close proximity to her nearly nude genitalia for a birth scene, was invasive and humiliating."

A source close to the set told Peoplemagazine that Lively was "extremely uncomfortable" upon learning "the actor who was placing his face between her legs was the boss’s best friend."

The source went on to say, "But apparently, Baldoni and company think it was perfectly fine to have his best friend play that role, out of all the actors that could have been chosen."

Justin Baldoni’s friend, Adam Mondschein, spoke toPage Sixabout his appearance in the film and said that he plans to testify if asked.

"My experience working with her is very different than the one she described in her lawsuit,” he told the publication. “Indeed, I was surprised to read her description of the scene."

He said that the set was "entirely professional" and claims that Lively "never complained or expressed discomfort at any point."

He also noted that she was not “partially nude,” as she had claimed, and that her costume "included a full hospital gown, black shorts and torso-covering prosthetic to make her appear pregnant in addition to whatever personal garments she chose.”

The actor and producer might not be a well-known household name, but he has appeared in shows like “Castle” and “Arrested Development.” Like Justin Baldoni, he also identifies as a member of the Baha’i faith.

He also shot back at the statement in her filing that claims that he was simply “the actor who was placing his face between her legs,” adding, "Ms. Lively’s insinuations regarding my qualifications are offensive, as my bonafides are easily searchable online.”

It remains to be seen just how much pop star Taylor Swift had a role in “It Ends With Us” or if she will testify. Swift reportedly showed up to Lively’s apartment while they were discussing a scene, but it’s unclear how much input she had on the script change. Justin Baldoni’s website has since revealed alleged leaked text messages that seemingly show that Swift did have some involvement, despite conflicting reports.

The text messages from Baldoni say that Lively's changes made the scene “so much more fun and interesting,” but added that he “would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor,” hinting at the singer’s involvement.

Lively then allegedly responded, "I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. [Smiley-face emoji] you will too, I can promise you." It is heavily implied that Swift and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, are her "dragons."

There has also been reports that Lively would “change her mind” about securing Swift’s song for the trailer if her edit was not used, as well as a resurfaced clip from Access Hollywood that features Baldoni claiming that both Swift and Lively witnessed the audition tape for Isabela Ferrer, who went on to play a younger version of Lively’s character in the movie.

In August 2024, Lively also discussed Swift’s involvement during an interview on CBS Mornings. “I think that, for better or worse, she experienced the whole thing with me,” she said at the time, adding that Swift was at her side “throughout this whole process.”
