Bey and Jay tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony in April 2008. According to PEOPLE, the day was described as "emotional," with much crying.
Sources close to the couple revealed the ceremony occurred at Jay-Z's 13,500 square-foot penthouse in Manhattan with 70,000 dendrobium orchids from Thailand.
The pair first sparked romance rumors in the early 2000s, which only intensified as they appeared together on magazine covers and released collaborations like "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" and "Crazy in Love."
Throughout their years of marriage, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have also had their share of ups and downs.
Despite being a private couple, in 2016, Bey revealed Jay-Z's infidelity in depth with her sixth studio album, "Lemonade." Later, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, addressed his mistakes during several songs on his 13th album, "4:44."
In 2018, the pair released the joint project "Everything Is Love," which detailed their healing and reconciliation journey.

Tina's Post Comes Weeks After West Shared Insensitive Posts About Beyoncé's Family

In late March 2025, West, who previously had a tight relationship with Bey and Jay, made a series of problematic posts about their family, specifically their children, on X, formerly Twitter.
"WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCES YOUNGER KIDS(?)," he wrote in one post, referencing the couple's twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, born June 13, 2017.
West added, "THEY'RE RETARDED NO LIKE LITERALLY, AND THIS IS WHY ARTIFICIAL [INSEMINATION] IS SUCH A BLESSING. HAVING RETARDED CHILDREN IS A CHOICE."
The "808s & Heartbreak" rapper eventually deleted his posts; however, he still made reckless comments about Jay-Z, including that the "Tom Ford" performer would "kill" him for disrespecting his family.
Although Tina didn't acknowledge West directly, she made a cryptic social media post, telling her followers how "hard" it is to "remain positive and classy in the fact of ignorance and evil."
Bey's dad, Mathew Knowles, however, did acknowledge West in a previous interview, and he didn't mince his words.
"People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry," he said.
West Reveals Why He's Upset With Jay-Z After Years Of Feuding

In later posts, West revealed he was upset with Jay-Z for things that occurred between the collaborators in the past.
"HOV NOT COMING TO MY FIRST WEDDING HIM PUTTING KENDRICK ON THE SUPER BOWL OVER ME ON EVEN US NEVER BEING INVITED TO SH-T TAKING JABS ABOUT MY RED HAT ON DONDA," he wrote.
West added, "I FELT LIKE BOTH HIM AND HIS WIFE COULD HAVE HELPED ME HAVE MORE LEVERAGE WITH MY KIDS. THEY COULD HAVE USED THEIR CULTURAL POSITION TO NOT JUST WATCH THE KARDASHIANS RUN ME OVER."
He concluded, "SH-T HURTS SO F-CK BOTH OF THEM CAUSE WHEN I NEED THEM IT WAS F-CK ME."
