Madison Pettis may have manifested a potential shot at portraying Mariah Carey on the big screen!

The Disney Channel's "Cory in the House" star went viral in 2023 when she embodied the sensational singer for Halloween. Their striking resemblance was outstanding, and the actress wants a chance to showcase it in a possible biopic.

Although the movie adaptation of the Songbird Supreme's hit memoir "The Meaning of Mariah Carey" has not been confirmed, Madison Pettis hopes to be considered if it ever gets made. Mariah Carey teased the potential project last November with renowned director Lee Daniels.

Pettis gushed about her love and respect for Carey after the paparazzi caught up with her to ask about the possible biopic. When told she bore a striking resemblance to the singer, the actress noted she was frequently compared to Carey's younger self.

"So I wanted to properly pay homage. I hope I did her well," Pettis said about her 2023 Halloween tribute to Carey. "If she does that biopic, I would love it. And I've heard she doesn't want anyone to sing her vocals because no one should. No one should touch those vocals, and I'm not a singer," she added.

Pettis doubled down on no one singing Carey's songs, stressing that nobody could match the singer's talents. "Mariah is one of one," she raved before admitting that portraying the older entertainer in a biopic has always been one of her dream roles.

Additionally, Pettis noted the love for Carey runs in her family, telling TMZ, "I've never met [Mariah], no. I love her, though. Even my niece is named after her. We're big Mariah fans in my family. So one day."

For 2023's Halloween, Pettis honored Carey by embodying the singer's outfit, hair, and makeup style from her debut single "Vision of Love." The song made waves in 1990 as it captured Carey's powerful vocals and signature use of the whistle register.

Pettis rocked a similar mini black dress like Carey's from the song's cover, rocking her honey-brown hair in voluminous waves that cascaded down her shoulders. She shared side-by-side comparisons in the carousel, flaunting her resemblance to Carey. "I had a vision of love…" the actress captioned the post.

Her tribute received hundreds of positive comments, with fans raving about Pettis' similarity to Carey. One fan projected the TV personality's dream role, declaring, "If they ever do a biopic, you'd slay it." Another echoed similar sentiments, claiming Pettis deserved to play the singer on the big screen.

Carey Teased A Potential Biopic With Director Lee Daniels

Carey's possible biopic made headlines last year after she and director Daniels teased fans about the project on Instagram. The clip, shared on the latter's account, captured him bonding with the singer. Daniels noted they were back and "getting ready to go on another journey" together.

Daniels and Carey first teamed up in 2009, when she played a guidance school counselor named Ms. Weiss in his critically acclaimed movie, "Precious." The director implied their next project was a biopic in the post's caption, writing, "The Meaning of Mariah….A long time coming … I love this woman!"

The teaser sparked hundreds of comments from excited fans, who couldn't wait to see the singer's life play out on the big screen. "This is the most exciting news!!! This is going to be so good!!!" someone declared. Another echoed similar sentiments, writing:

"OMG!! I'm in!! Even though I read her book twice!! I'm always down to see anything approved by Ms. Carey."

The 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' Singer Dropped More Biopic Hints

Although Daniels and Carey did not confirm whether their reunion was for a biopic, many believed it was. The singer also fueled the speculations with more hints of her memoir coming to life in an interview. When asked about the possibility of a world tour in 2025, Carey said:

"I know that I'm working on a project that needs to be finished, so I don't think I can go on a world tour. I would if I were able to finish the project while on tour, but I can't."

"I am working on new music, and I'm very excited about it, but I need the time to just do it," the singer added. Carey first addressed the possibility of making her memoir into a movie in 2020, noting people had contacted her about the project.

"These things take a long time, so it's going to be what it is, but I believe in it. I'mreally looking forward to it even just as a viewer, seeing these stories come to life," Carey said, per Harper's Bazaar.

The singer released "The Meaning of Mariah Carey" in 2020. She co-wrote the book with author Michaela Angela Davis, diving into her rise to fame and her challenges to become "Songbird Supreme."

The emotional book featured raw excerpts from Carey's life, including her tumultuous marriage to industry executive Tommy Mottola. The recollection also featured the singer's complicated relationship with her late mother, Patricia, and her rocky time in the music industry.

Carey is one of the world's most recognizable voices in music with the fantastic gift of songwriting. She has broken numerous records with her powerful vocals and holds the record for with the most number-one hits as a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 in history.
