Ruelas reportedly filed for an extension on a $1 million mortgage loan for their Montville, New Jersey mansion.

The U.S. Sun obtained court documents revealing that Ruelas is not only seeking an extension but also requesting an additional $250,000 loan.

According to the documents, "The Borrower has requested, and the Lender has agreed to extend the maturity date of the Initial Loan from March 25, 2025, to March 25, 2026."

Additionally, Ruelas has agreed to pay a loan fee of $5,000 as part of the extension agreement.

The mortgage loan, originally taken out on March 25, 2024, was set to mature by March 25, 2025. However, new court filings indicate that Ruelas has secured an extension until March 25, 2026.

The documents state, "The Lender is lending to Borrower an additional loan in the principal sum of $250,000, and Borrower has executed and delivered to Lender, a Mortgage Note for the principal sum of $255,000."

During the extended loan period, Ruelas will continue making interest-only payments each month until the final due date in 2026.

At that point, "the unpaid principal balance, together with accrued interest and all other sums due from the Borrower to the Lender under the Note and Loan Documents shall become immediately due and payable."

Giudice and Ruelas purchased the luxurious Montville estate in January 2021 for $3,350,000.

The seven-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion features a home theater, gym, recreational room, and other high-end amenities.

Outside, the property boasts an in-ground pool, a waterfall, a cabana area, and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Unlike many homebuyers, the couple initially did not take out a loan when they purchased the estate.

However, Ruelas later obtained a $1 million loan in 2024, which has now led to the current request for an extension and additional funds.

This latest financial move comes as the couple deals with reports of a $3 million tax debt, adding to speculation about their financial stability.

Teresa Giudice And Luis Ruelas's Tax Debt

Giudice and Ruelas have several million dollars in tax debt, according to PEOPLE Magazine.

Court records revealed that the "RHONJ" star owed $303,889.20, while Ruelas had a tax lien of nearly $2.6 million. In addition to this, Ruelas had been issued another lien for $163,523.94 in December 2024, which remained an open case on the New Jersey Courts website.

Giudice, who married Ruelas in 2022, had previously served an 11-month sentence in 2015 for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. Reflecting on her incarceration, she stated, "I know in my heart I was not supposed to go there. I know I only went because I'm in the public eye." She also insisted, "I have nothing to hide. Like, I did my time already, you know?"

Following her release, Giudice met Ruelas in 2020, and the couple got engaged in 2021.

Before their wedding, Giudice shared that they were not planning on signing a prenup, saying, "I would [sign a prenup], you know, if he said so. I'm so very easy about that."

She added, "He definitely has more than me. I would never take anything from him, I'm so not like that."

Bethenny Frankel Slams Teresa Giudice

Giudice's reluctance to sign a prenup earned her the wrath of former "The Real Housewives of New York City" star, Bethenny Frankel.

Recall that Frankel warned Giudice to sign a prenup in 2002, tweeting, "I may jump through my phone if @Teresa_Giudice doesn't sign a prenup @Andy."

Amid news of Giudice and Ruelas's tax debt, Frankel blasted her Bravo colleague via a video on Instagram. "I cannot believe that Teresa is in another marriage with financial legal issues," Frankel began before recalling her 2022 tweet.

She continued, "It's like you're watching a movie and you're like, "No! Do not open that closet!" I just feel terrible but, like, fool me once, you're a fool, fool me twice, I'm a fool."

Frankel also said, "There's never been a worse picker in the history of pickers than myself besides Teresa Giudice."

She also questioned why Giudice and Ruelas were on TV, saying, "Also, why would you both go on TV? Like, there's something wrong with someone who goes on TV knowing that you have a dead body in your trunk. It's almost like it's being made up - it's unfathomable. It doesn't make any sense. It's too implausible."
