Sabrina Carpenter is making headlines once again, but this time, it’s not just for her chart-topping hits.

The "Espresso" singer found herself at the center of two viral moments in Paris this week. One involved an aggressive paparazzi encounter, and the other sparked debate over a provocative on-stage performance.

While critics had plenty to say, Sabrina Carpenter’s loyal fanbase is standing firmly by her side.

Paparazzi Swarm Sabrina Carpenter In Paris

The 25-year-old pop star was swarmed by photographers as she left a Paris restaurant, with members of her team shielding her from the flashing lights using a sequined purple cloth. The chaotic scene quickly turned sour when Sabrina declined to pose for photos, choosing instead to head straight into a waiting SUV.

What began with shouts of “Sabrina, give us one shot!” and “Just one shot, Sabrina, we know you're nice!” quickly escalated to insults as the star ignored the requests.

"Shame on you, Sabrina!" several voices can be heard yelling in a now-viral video. Others mocked the moment, chanting "Ridiculous" and even threatening her public image with comments like “The fans will see this, Sabrina.”

But fans did see the footage and overwhelmingly took her side.

Carpenter's Loyal Fan Base Chimes In

“‘The fans will see this’... yeah, they’re gonna see you making her uncomfortable and stalking her,” one user wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“‘Shame on you’??? She literally doesn't owe you anything????” another added.

Some even joked about organizing a “riot” in her honor, while others compared the situation to similar run-ins stars like Chappell Roan have faced, calling for more celebrities to speak up about aggressive paparazzi tactics.

While Carpenter was fielding unsolicited attention outside the venue, she was making headlines for something else inside it.

During her tour stop at Paris’s Accor Arena, the singer performed her song "Juno" with a risqué twist simulating a ménage à trois, specifically mimicking the Eiffel Tower sex position, with two male backup dancers. The choreography, which included suggestive gestures and flirtatious mic work, was captured by fans and quickly made the rounds online.

“I’m sorry but there are little kids in the audience and this is taking it way too far,” one concerned fan posted.

Another echoed, “Promoting sex positions to a primarily underage audience? I stan her, but this isn’t ok…”

However, many fans pushed back at the outrage, defending Carpenter’s artistic expression and clarifying that her music is not made for children.

“Her music is not for children and if you as a parent don’t monitor what your kids are listening to that’s your fault,” one fan wrote.

Another chimed in, “If you bring your kids to her shows that’s on you… have you LISTENED to her music?”

In "Juno," Carpenter croons about her deep infatuation with a partner, with lyrics like “Have you ever tried this one?” setting the stage for playful, if bold, performance choices. Since the tour’s June 20 kickoff, Carpenter has been acting out various steamy positions to match the song's tone, which actually has a connection to the movie of the same name.

Songwriter Amy Allen, who worked with Carpenter on both her "Short n’ Sweet" and "Emails I Can’t Send" albums, told Us Weekly last year that the fan-favorite indie film was a direct inspiration for the track.

“I’m so grateful to have her as a collaborator for moments like that, because I think being a pop songwriter, like, five years ago, if somebody had come in with that concept, that would’ve been like, ‘I’m not sure people will get that,’” she said in December 2024.

“But because she’s so authentic and her artistry is so intact and she knows who she is, the second she started talking about her idea for that, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re doing this, it’s gonna be great and it’s gonna be witty and it’s gonna be heartfelt,’” Allen continued. “She’s such a fearless leader with ideas like that.”
