Can Netflix win over Taylor Swift?
The streaming giant, which has over 300 million subscribers worldwide, changed the game in 2024 by hosting the NFL's Christmas Day Games. Another surprise that viewers couldn't get enough of was the star-studded halftime performance by Beyoncé, which featured talented guests, including Shaboozey and Post Malone.
So, will Netflix stick with tradition and book another A-list pop star like Taylor Swift for 2025's holiday games? The company's CEO sure hopes so.
Netflix CEO Hopes Taylor Swift Will Perform During Christmas Day Games This Year

During an interview with Variety, Netflix's CEO, Ted Sarandos, joked that he and his colleagues would try to get Swift on the books for this year's Christmas Day halftime show.
"That's a good challenge!" he said. "We did get her in the stadium this year," referencing Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs' December game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Later, Sarandos switched the topic to the possibility of Netflix ever hosting the Super Bowl, which he admitted would be a "tough" decision for the NFL, which receives "so much money from the networks."
The demand, however, doesn't scare the businessman, who pointed out that Netflix hosted the Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson fight. "... we were supporting a Super Bowl-sized audience. We can certainly support it technically," he insisted.
Taylor Swift Brings In The Money

A Swift performance would also earn the NFL and whichever streaming service secured the rights to the game a large amount of money.
Over Thanksgiving weekend in 2024, the singer, who's already a certified billionaire thanks to her chart-topping singles and albums, reportedly made over $30 million by selling something special from her latest concert, the "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book."
According to Circana Bookscan, one of the most trusted trackers of weekly book sales, Swift sold just over 814,000 copies of the book in its first two days. The only book to beat those numbers is former President of the United States Barack Obama's memoir, "A Promised Land."
Swift's text was on sale for $39.99, and taking that and multiplying it by 814,000, the singer earned just over $32,500,000. Of course, she won't see all of those zeros. However, she surely earned a pretty penny.
Taylor Swift Thanked Her Crew In The 'Eras' Book

In the introduction of Swift's "Eras Tour" book, the "Cruel Summer" singer gave a special shout-out to the crew who worked on her massive tour, including the band, dancers, and backup singers.
She boasted about her "incredible" team, "who all matched my dedication to the massive scale and challenges of this show." The Grammy winner also made sure to thank her fans for giving her something to perform for.
"We do it because life comes in waves, in phases, in brilliant flurries of magical moments, and all of these things come together to create... Eras," she said. "Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour."
Beyoncé Performed During The 2024 Christmas Day Game

If Swift performs during the NFL's Christmas Day games in 2025, it will follow Beyoncé's epic half-time performance in 2024, which occurred in Texas during the Houston Texans' matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
The "Lemonade" singer first teased the special show with a series of Instagram posts featuring her in cowboy hats and red, white, and blue apparel.
On Christmas, Beyoncé graced the stage and gave her first live performance of songs from her genre-bending eighth studio album, "Cowboy Carter."
In addition to the collaborations with Shaboozey and Post Malone, Beyoncé shared the spotlight with her teenage daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who has been featured in several of her mother's works, including "Brown Skin Girl" and her "RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR" in 2023.
Beyonce Announced A Tour After Her Christmas Performance

Days after her performance, Beyoncé announced her widely anticipated "Cowboy Carter" tour, which will stop in nine locations, including Paris, France, California, Chicago, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, and more.
According to a report from Billboard, ticket sales for Beyoncé's country tour are off to a strong start, selling "94 [percent]" of the show's inventory barely a month after pre-sales began.
Upon the singer's initial tour announcement in February 2025, the publication predicted final earnings of $294 million. Today, Billboard expects the show to exceed $325 million in revenue.
