Game of Thrones may be over bu fans of Westeros need not fear. HBO announced on Tuesday evening that House of the Dragon, a prequel series about the rise of House Targaryen was picked up straight to series.
Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, House of the Dragon will take place three centuries before Game of Thrones takes place and will draw from Martin's book Fire And Blood as the source material.
Miguel Sapochnik and Condal will serve as showrunners, and Sapochnik will direct the pilot and a number of other episodes in the 10-episode season. Sapochnik directed episodes like "Battle of the Bastards," "Hardhome," "Battle of Winterfell," and "The Bells," so it will be fascinating to see his vision of Westeros onscreen again.
