Although shocking, Judge's decision to step away from the series due to backlash is on brand for her. In 2024, she faced a similar reaction after claiming she was "on the spectrum" following just one therapy session, a comment that sparked widespread criticism.

"Don't make me cry," Judge told her podcast co-host, Teddi Mellencamp. "My biggest problem is working through trauma, trauma that I had in my life. I have a hard time with empathy and feeling other people's feelings."

Judge likely believed she would be met with compassion; however, many in the Bravoverse slammed her while mentioning her cruel behavior toward Shannon Beador in the season's earlier episodes.

"Yes, I'm admitting I'm weak," she continued. "And I'm okay with that right now."

Judge's supposed exit from "RHOC" came only two seasons after she made her triumphant return to the series in 2022. After being fired in 2020, Judge sat patiently on the sidelines before the network announced her status during an episode of "Watch What Happens Live."

She addressed her comeback on Instagram with a fiery post and caption. She wrote, "The Judge is back, and drama's in session. #RHOC #Season17."

Andy Cohen Commented on Judge's 'RHOC' Exit

On an episode of his radio show, "Andy Cohen Live," Judge's boss and "Real Housewives" executive producer Andy Cohen addressed her cryptic post and seemingly encouraged his listeners to show the television personality some grace.

“I got the report of what happened last night. All I will say is this: I can’t comment on what’s going on, you know, while we’re filming shows,” he said. “I guess the only thing that is at the top of my mind is that one of her best friends, if not her best friend, is going through an incredibly intense health crisis. So maybe keep that in mind. Otherwise, I really don’t have anything to say on the subject.”

Judge's longtime friend and "Two Ts In A Pod" co-host Mellencamp, who appeared in the Beverly Hills iteration of the popular reality franchise, revealed a devastating announcement about her health via Instagram in February 2025.

"After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months," she wrote. "I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health."

Mellencamp, 43, concluded her post by thanking her friends and supporters for checking in with her throughout her journey.
