Pop star Britney Spears is concerning fans after posting, and then deleting, a concerning message about her drinking habits after alleging that she has been “abused” during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.
This isn’t the first time that the “Toxic” singer has gotten candid about allegations of mistreatment. Her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” gave the singer an opportunity to use her voice for the first time and describe what she went through during those private years of her life.

In the deleted Instagram post shared on Thursday, March 6, the “Oops!... I Did It Again” singer claimed that she was “controlled” and “abused 100%” during her controversial 13-year conservatorship.
“HOLY GRAIL !!! I’m not lying though. I don’t like drinking. I do it for my heart when it’s been through too much but I’m weird,” she wrote in the post, as reported by the Daily Mail. “I take on a lot of pain. I honestly shouldn’t and I put it in a lot of work people will never see … I’m posting this now because the language we speak today, our generation about technology in secret is TRASH, admit it !!!”

Although the “Circus” singer insists that she “never did anything wrong” during the conservatorship, she claimed that she was “abused” if she ever “spoke up” against the mistreatment.
“I will show you the pictures that were taken of me during the conservatorship that were all a waste. I was never a star that could speak up in the conservatorship !!!” she wrote. “I was in a business that preyed over the innocent and controlled where I went, who I saw, what I ate, which is 100% unfair and if I spoke up I was abused and I never did anything wrong !!! Here are the pics !!!”

Elsewhere in the lengthy post, she explained that the only time that she felt “beautiful” was in a photoshoot that she did with photographer Ellen Von Unwerth in New York. “The only photoshoot I’ve ever done was when Ellen Vonworth shot me in New York City for 2 hours and it was the first and only photo shoot a photographer made me feel beautiful,” she wrote.
“I will show you over 40 pictures I did with the conservatorship that are not only embarrassing and demoralizing. It almost feels like bullying from a business that was created by my father so he could have 10 women on his tour bus during my tours,” she continued. “The secret is that I was NEVER a star in the conservatorship. I was ABUSED 100 percent!!!”

The Crossroads actress wrapped up her lengthy message, writing, “PS the American conservatorship made me feel SOO BEAUTIFUL !!! Psss … in conclusion the psychology in all the wasted times on PICS that my little brain sat there day and night for absolutely nothing !!! There’s a reason I obviously don’t like pictures because I like to SEE MY BODY ALIVE AND MOVING !!!”
On February 1, 2008, the pop star was placed in a court-ordered conservatorship. At the time, Judge Reva Goetz named her father, Jamie Spears, and attorney Andrew M. Wallet as her conservators. Wallet resigned as co-conservator in 2019. Later that year, Jodi Montgomery was assigned as her personal conservator and took control of her finances after Jamie stepped away due to an illness.

In the final years of her conservatorship, the Princess of Pop told a judge that she was forced to use birth control and take medication against her will.
“Ma’am, my dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, and my management, who played huge roles in punishing me when I said ‘No’ [to going on tour],” she said during one hearing. “Ma’am, they should be in jail.”
When her conservatorship ended in 2021, she was engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, whom she met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. They married in June 2022, but the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor filed for divorce in August 2023. The couple officially divorced last year.
