Season 16 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" is around the corner, and Porsha Williams is ready for her big return.
To get fans excited about the new batch of episodes, which will hit the air on March 9, 2025, Williams has been on a press tour, sharing details about her time with Bravo and how she enjoyed filming with some of her new castmates.
During an interview with Charlamagne Tha God on the "Breakfast Club" radio show, Porsha Williams also discussed where she stands with some of her former castmates, including NeNe Leakes, considering the latter blasted her in a viral Instagram video in 2024, claiming Williams tried to stop her from filming a part in the Netflix TV show, "The Upshaws."
What Did Leakes Say About Porsha Williams?

For those who may be unfamiliar with the drama between these two reality stars, Leakes slammed Williams in a viral social media post in March 2024 for allegedly trying to get her axed from working with Netflix.
In the video, Leakes, who first met Williams during season 5 of "RHOA" in 2012, told her followers that she and Williams were initially booked to film a scene featuring housewives for an episode of "The Upshaws."
"I haven't seen Porsha. We always have a good laugh when we see each other, so I was like, 'Ok, me and Porsha are going to kill this part,'" Leakes said.
Leakes, however, revealed that Williams never attended rehearsals, causing the production company to recast the role.
"I was later told that Porsha did not show up to work and had said that she did not want to work with me. That we had had issues from the past, and she did not want to work with me," Leakes continued before admitting she was "more than disappointed."
"I am shocked to hear that Porsha would go to a production company and say that she doesn't want to work with me because we've had a lot of issues in the past," added Leakes. "What lots of issues did we have in the past?"
Later, Leakes revealed that she communicated with Williams through text messages, who admitted she was hurt by Leakes' silence surrounding her divorce from Simon Guobadia.
However, Leakes, 57, said she didn't want to "pry" into Williams' business.
"The bottom line is that Porsha did not want to share the spotlight. That's it. Professionals can share the spotlight. Porsha is not a star; she is a Bravolebrity. Be clear," Leakes finished.
Porsha Williams Finally Speaks On Leakes' Earlier Comments
During an appearance on 105.1's "Breakfast Club," Williams explained that she had filed for divorce from Guobadia days before she was supposed to film her scenes for "The Upshaws."
Williams said that, due to scheduling constraints, she couldn't cancel; however, being on the set with Leakes was challenging for her.
"When I got there, I just started breaking down," she shared before saying that hearing Leakes' voice "in the room next to me ... broke me down" also.
Williams, 43, explained that she felt "alone" during that time and being on the set with her former co-star was "too familiar."
"I had not talked to her. I didn't know how I could face her," she said. "I didn't know how I could face anybody."
The reality star added, "It genuinely wasn't me saying, 'No, I don't want to work with this person or that person or whomever' because I agreed to it. I just wasn't capable of doing it that day. I could not gather myself at all."
Porsha Williams Believes Leakes Made Her Divorce About Her

Elsewhere in her interview, Williams criticized Leakes for trying to make her divorce about herself.
"After that, in true NeNe fashion, she just turned it into something about herself," Williams said. "And it genuinely wasn't about her. It was about me."
Reports of Williams and Guobadia's divorce first hit the internet in February 2024. At the time, many believed that their divorce had something to do with the rumors about Guobadia's citizenship; however, an insider denied those claims.
The start of their relationship generated a lot of buzz, as it began in April 2021—the same month Guobadia announced his divorce from his previous ex-wife and Williams' friend, Falynn Guobadia.
Since announcing their separation, Williams and Guobadia have been engaged in several legal battles.
In November 2024, Guobadia filed a suit, claiming Williams made "false and defamatory" comments about him when she posted about erectile dysfunction.
Although she didn't tag her soon-to-be-ex-husband in the post, he said the comments came amid their contentious divorce.

After a three-year hiatus, Williams announced her return to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" in February 2024, weeks before she and Gubobadia filed for divorce.
In her video, she told fans that "Porsha Williams" wasn't returning but that "Porsha Guobadia is in the building."
The Instagram post was captioned, "Season 16 Lets Gooooo 🍑 #Rhoa Are y'all READY?! 👑😘🤑."
Guobadia Tried To Stop Williams From Filming In Their Home

Shortly after production commenced on season 16, Guobadia filed legal documents requesting a court block Williams' ability to film scenes for "RHOA" in their shared home.
However, The Blast reported that a court ruled in favor of Williams, giving her "unrestricted right(s) to film and produce television, film or social media, or other audiovisual content in and around the Marital Residence."
The document continued, "If necessary, Husband shall execute any and all documents necessary to facilitate Wife's ability to film and Husband's release to film, returning any documents received within forty-eight (48) hours. All other issues are reserved for further determination."
